As much as I don’t wanna see a city lose its team: it’d be hilarious after all the years the “experts” projected the Jags to LA, St Louis, and London…

Other than Shannon Sharpe, sports media just says what other media guys say. Yes it would be funny since the media said the Jaguars would lose the team.

As I understand, the Panthers own the stadium but the city of Charlotte has a right to buy it back if the team stops making payments to the city. I don't know what those payments are for but I assume they're small.
It's very different from Jacksonville where the city owns the stadium and Khan pays a relatively high amount of rent to the city.

Edit: the panthers own the structure, but the city owns the land. The Panthers pay $1 per year to the city for the land. With that agreement expired, the city can effectively put a lien on the stadium and reclaim it 4 years from now. The city has paid for minor upgrades to the stadium over the years but the original construction was funded by permanent seat licenses. The City of Charlotte is open to giving a bigger sum of money for a new or majorly upgraded stadium, but the county and state have both said no. Cost projections are similar to what we just saw.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
