Much easier to get done. But it was the relationship and trust he built with Norvell over the last few years that was the key. Plus Norvell putting his future in the hands of ESPN and the SEC maybe not as trustworthy given The Snub. Also credit Norvell with ultimately choosing loyalty to the FSU program, players and staff plus wanting to finish what he rebuilt. It also tells me he’s very confident FSU will be out of the ACC in the next 2 seasons likely to the @B1G and @CFBONFOX Make no mistake this was an existential threat to the FSU program given the timing and circumstances. I can’t help but thinking of my first week at WTXL-TV Sports Staff in 1986 when Bobby Bowden was offered the #Bama job his dream job and ultimately turned it down for many of these same reasons. Norvell being a student of the game and a huge Bowden fan undoubtedly recalled that pivot point in Bowden’s career and FSU history.
