She and Crenshaw are the same in that they are both safe.  They don't ever have to compromise, or reach across the aisle, to get re-elected.   All these congresspeople are safe.   They don't have to accomplish anything.  So nothing ever gets accomplished.  

 

Exactly. You have to really screw up to not be reelected to Congress.

If it's only a Republican thing how come we don't see Democrats having to fight for reelection? You don't think they have safe seats?

 

Democrats toe the line so they don't get challenged from the left. Republicans toe the line so they don't get challenged from the right.

 

It makes a lot more sense, politically, to just sit still, don't you dare compromise.
