Have mocked him quite a bit alongside McCormick in RD4 for us. Might need to consider both players earlier though at 96. Mason McCormick will be gone by our 3rd round pick I believe. If ever there were a draft where the value of three 2/3rd picks far outweighs the value of a 1st rounder...this one is it. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

So would you trade out of the 1st round to get a bunch of 2nd round picks, say with Wash to get #36 and #40?

They could get a CB, OL, and DT to strengthen pretty much all the critical weakness. Preferably I'd move down to 25 or so and nab an extra 3 for that before going to your suggestion, but yes, this roster needs 5 good players more than 1 really good one IMO. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

There is no way anyone is turning the sole No. 17 pick into three 2nd round picks, much less more than that with multiple trade downs. . It would take like one of the top 3 WR or top 4 QB's fall for some reason and for Baalke to blackmail other GM's to accomplish that. -- Getting two early 2nd round picks for No. 17 is actually a steal on every draft value chart.

You asked about Washington's picks, we ready have 48. Last year a drop from 25 to 27 netted a 4th. A drop from 25 to 36 would net the other 2 in that case. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Makes sense with his pass blocking efficiency in the play action game. Just not sure where his overall value sits. I thought he was maybe a RD4 - RD5 guy at best by all accounts. He might be higher up on some boards because of his zone-scheme familiarity. "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? If there's a big run on guys we wanted, I could see dropping way back. We could always re-trade back into the first if one of the second tier guys we covets starts to fall. I think 46 was intended to be our 48. 36 and 40 would be from the Redacteds. Even if you have to toss in a Day 3 pick to even the trade out a bit, worth it.

Yeah, I must've fat fingered it. We would have the two Washington picks and our original 2nd as well. That would give us three guys between 36 and 48, then you add in the Pitt 3 mentioned earlier, We'd end up with 36, 40, 48, 84, 96 in the top 100. That's a great group to set up 2025 and beyond. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
