Meant to start a topic last week. Florida is hitting their stride. Playing well on all fronts. Pitching well, hitting well, and minus one inning over the last three weekends fielding second to none. Look forward to the CWS.

This weekend series also proved why the Noles winning two out of three in the regular season, mid week games, meant very little. Florida didn't pitch any of their top 5 guys, and sat several starters as well.
VCU (my alma mater) got into the Super Regionals this offseason so I started following the College baseball scene. It's a lot different from MLB, so I'm trying to figure out how to be an informed spectator of a sport played the same way but with different emphasis.

Regardless, it was a lot of fun watching them take a swing!

I hope they play vandy

my son graduated from vandy

im watching vandy and llinois now

vandy just layed down a perfect suicide squeeze ,

I am pretty sure it's already set. They'll play Miami first game. SEC/ACC dominating the national scene.

You've been watching the regionals, which have to be won to earn a trip to the College World Series.

Regionals was two weeks ago where four teams qualify, one gets out to the super regionals which were this past weekend. SR are best 2 of 3, winner of one of those 8 super regional sites are off to the CWS.

No, the Vandy / Illinios series drug out to Monday due to a cancellation (weather) over the weekend.

Who needs Fall and Winter sports when you have a strong softball and baseball team.  Go Gators.

It's been fun to watch, and it's another national title, softball title in the trophy case, but.....I'd trade that trophy any year for wins over Tennesee, Georgia, FSU in the fall.
florida played well. We played like poop!
Tough loss for the Gators. What a great game though. Classic pitcher's duel. Both were on fire.

The Gators were on fire the last few weeks. Surprised they were able to shut them down like that.

That pitcher, I think his name was Waddell, like Puk was on last night. Everything was working to perfection.

They said he was the 40th pick in the mlb draft and sat out a lot this year because of injury.  He came back last night and was pretty darn good.

I was kind of shocked that the school signed him for an additional 2-3 years.

I am hoping UF can hold on to O'Sullivan. Clemson will push hard to get him back there. I think the current contract will be allow UF to hold on to him.

I cannot think of a coach in any sport (college or pro) with a career like Mike Martin. Dominate in the regular season and then just collapse in the postseason. Year in, year out.

At least they used to choke in Omaha. Now they cannot even get out of the super regional. Only three trips to Omaha in the last 15 years.
