Regardless of what Reid says, you don't expect to see the first overall pick playing backup in OTAs three years in. Fisher might be a bigger bust than Joeckel at this point.

It's certain a huge season for both Eric Fisher and Luke Joeckel. In fairness to both teams, these players were probably at or near the top of most draft boards. But it does reinforce that the draft is a crapshoot, even with all of the scouting and research.

sometimes the scouts get it wrong. it happens.

That 2013 draft was just an awful draft, maybe one of the worst draft classes ever. Just the Jags luck to get a #2 pick and can't get an impact player.
I was looking over the first round picks that year, and I'm still not sure who has been the best player up until now.
If you had a re-draft of the 2013 NFL draft, who would you have picked at #2? Or even #1?

Yeah, there really isn't a stand out person yet. Here is to hoping Luke turns it around.

I think he turns it around this year and its hard to find that franchise LT

I remember a lot of people wanting Star or Sheldon in Jacksonville. Here's to hoping Luke can turn it around this year. I think he will be much better, as it seems a lot of the problems last year were from a lack of strength and confidence.

it does seem to have been a poor year draft wise, I still like Ziggy, Sheldon and Eric Reid but I still would have picked Luke at the time.

In the follow thread/discussion, I mentioned the irony about the Lions having the team's best draft in 2013 in a VERY long time. Especially, considering the team's overall track record this century. That draft and UDRFA crop likely saved G.M. Martin Mayhew's job despite Jim Schwartz being fired after the 2013 season.

If I took Ziggy Ansah and Luke Joeckel out of the equation in terms of the answer to you question, I probably would take Sheldon Richardson # 1. When the Jets drafted Richardson, I had significant questions whether he would be a good fit for their Defensive scheme. Richardson has in essence proven that he can play in any Defensive scheme at a high level. With the addition of Leonard Williams to what the Jets already had prior to the draft, there's no telling what Richardson's upside is. All I know is it's extremely high. That much more with Todd Bowles as his new HC.

We can only hope it works out and that marrone will put joeckel in a position to play better. Which I think he will, and Joeckel was a 20 yr old which didn't help. At least we didn't take Dion Jordan instead.

Sheldon Richardson. Le'Veon Bell or Eddie Lacy.
