Quote:With the bolded I really dont see it as a big deal no.

So if Goodell was taking millions in bribes to award the super bowl to cities that clearly couldnt handle it, and even thousands of deaths leading to the event wouldnt make him change his decision, you would find this no big deal?

Lol, that kind of puts it in the reality of things.

It's like giving the Super Bowl to Palatka.
If FIFA is unwilling to change leadership and it's culture, there is nothing stopping the U.S. and other power nations from leaving the organization

There is already talk that UEFA would boycott the World Cup or leave FIFA if Blatter is re-elected.

The fact that the Confederations of African Football and the Asian Confederation would continue to vote for Blatter is a pretty good sign of how corrupt that organization is.

UEFA and CONCACAF need to leave FIFA if Blatter is re-elected.  They have to force their hand.

Yes, that is what he is saying.

Seriously?  You really pointed that out?

They've already started bailing. FIFA had better make changes, and fast.

Sepp wins another term.

Definitely. Especially any US based companies. There should be enough public pressure on companies like Coca Cola and Visa for them to pull out.

Unbelievable, but not really....

Yes. Although I suspect this book is not nearing it's ending.

I think those are two who are already thinking about it/plan to do it. Coke has a pretty big human rights platform they stand on and promote. The Qatar situation doesn't look good for them.

The good thing is while the US has limited pull with FIFA. as an organization. The US companies hold a lot of power.

Nobody knows that for certain.  A lot of people that make money dont want to belong to a criminal organization.
Good article in the Washington Post about worker deaths in Qatar. Accompanied by a stunning graphic.

Quote:A report by the International Trade Union Confederation has estimated 1,200 deaths so far, with up to 4,000 additional worker deaths by 2022.
