Rice would still be getting invites if he still had anything left. Take AP. Think any teams would want him? Im thinking a few.

Quite a few teams would be pursuing AP.  Unfortunately, the cost to get him out of Minnesota isn't worth it.

Lots of teams would be going after Peterson if he didn't have a huge contract and a team that wants to atone for the Herschel Walker trade.

I don't think the contract would scare teams off as much as the cost of the trade to get him.  The contract can be re-worked.

It can, but he's expressed no willingness to do so and seems to be actively seeking more money.

If his ultimate wish is to get out of Minnesota because he feels mistreated, and he's inflexible in making changes to his contract, he may as well retire.  Minnesota isn't going to budge, and no team is going to carry that contract on a RB past the age of 30.  I don't care how good he was.  Those days eventually end, and they usually do so very quickly for RBs.

And 72 hours later, McDonald is back in the news again.

Considering there were character concerns regarding Prince Shambo when he was with Notre Dame,  he could be easily be waiting a LONG time before he gets another NFL opportunity.   It's a given that many teams will probably never even consider him from this point forward.
