You mean the robot manufacturers?

I employ a person with an 8th grade education, who regularly butchers both written and spoken English. Still, she shows up for work on time, performs her chores efficiently and diligently, and I could not get through the day without her. She admits to not taking school seriously, and her job description does not include anything that required extensive training, but it is a position difficult to fill with competent workers. She is worth more than her $15 per hour wages, and she is definitely not an idiot.

 

I thought of her when first reading this thread. Had she applied for Chief's position, he might well have ridiculed her like he did that young man, and he may have missed out on a valuable employee.

A very valid point is that the person might be mentally challenged or handicaped, and they do attend High School.
