Jimbo being at 19 is a joke, especially with guys like Jim Mora, Gary Pinkel, Brian Kelly, David Cutcliffe, etc. ahead of him. He's easily a top 10 coach right now.
I also disagree with Harbaugh being at 6. He hasn't coached in college in what, five or six years now? I know he's a good coach, but don't think he should be that high right now.

Stellar contribution as always.
I always wonder if they factor recruiting into lists like this. They seem to use it as a knock against Saban, saying he has top classes but hasn't won the big one. In reality, recruiting is the backbone to a good team, and it's really hard to continue to win the big one over and over.
I don't put much stock into stupid lists like this, although I would agree Jimbo is closer to top 10 than 19th.
Yeah pretty surprising list. Fisher and Charlie Strong should be higher in this list.
Yeah Fisher should probably be higher.
But hard to argue with Meyer at the top. He could be the best big game coach in the history of the sport.

I started a thread for discussion. Not sure where the irony is coming from.

They have to factor in recruiting I would think at this level.

So still nothing about the actual topic?
Spurrier and Stoops too high. Spurrier has been disappointing for a while. Top 10? I am surprised by some of the coaches ahead of Jimbo, but I'm biased so whatever. Urban as number 1 seems like a no brainer.
Not surprised at Harbaugh, he was an incredible coach in college and went to a higher level and went to a Super Bowl. No arguments there

I lean this way on him. He built, and won at a school where it isn't so easy. Then he did it at the pro level. I have no arguments where he is, give or take a few spots maybe.

What's funny is Spurrier spent years mocking the SEC schools stuck in mediocrity. Now he is fully entrenched.

He is a great coach. Just has to show he can go down to places like California, Texas and Florida and get players to go to Michigan.

If Brady Hoke could recruit nationally, I don't worry about Harbaugh being able to.

Who did Hoke get "nationally"?

Hoke had 3 full recruiting classes. Here are his Rivals top 100 players in those classes.
2012 (7th ranked class in the country)
#14 overall Ondre Pipkens. Kansas City, MO
#22 overall Kyle Kalis. Lakewood, OH
#78 overall Erik Magnuson. Carlsbad, CA
2013 (5th ranked class in the country)
#8 overall Derrick Green. Richmond, VA
#70 overall Henry Poggi. Baltimore, MD
#81 overall Shane Morris. Warren, MI
#82 overall Patrick Kugler. Wexford, PA
2014 (31st ranked class in the country due to small size/scholarship limit)
#3 overall Jabrill Peppers. Paramus, NJ
#92 overall Mason Cole. Tarpon Springs, FL
Further, I'm not worried about California. Harbaugh already has plenty of ties and respect there from what he did at Stanford and in SF. We'll see what he can do throughout the rest of the country, but if Hoke could bring in top 10 classes, Harbaugh should be able to.
Mostly northern kids on that list. One kid from the south, and he's the lowest ranked one. And only one west coast. I'll believe Harbaugh can come into the south and grab a kid from likes of Saban, Fisher or Miles when he actually does it.
