Quote:What do you mean so what? If he doesn't fall to us after he's cut, we don't get a say so. He'd probably end up a Buc.
Again, so what? I think my point is pretty clear. I don't see any value in trading away draft picks for this guy. If there is so much demand for his services that we can't land him where we stand on the waiver list, that's life. We're not talking about the next HOF LB here.

You're a clown. You go from erroneously talking about bidding wars to seein my post and realizing it comes down to the waiver process, yet your point is pretty clear? Clown. You've been so full of it for so long it's sickening.

I love it when I'm accused of name calling and other transgressions by people like you.
I think you need to look up the word "erroneously" because there's nothing erroneous about what I said. There is a possibility that he could very well clear waivers, at which point it becomes a matter of who has the resources to sign him. My point remains as clear as ever. He's not worth giving up the type of draft pick Philly is looking for in trade (if they even still are shopping him). Should he clear waivers, and assuming the Jaguars would have interest, they'd be in the best position to sign him, and they wouldn't have to give up diddly squat to do so. Finally, there's nothing guaranteeing he wouldn't make it to the Jaguars even if he doesn't clear waivers. You can make all the assumptions you want. Doesn't make it fact.
What's funny about this is you're arguing about a guy who isn't available, and not worth the trade price that was being reported prior to the draft when they were considering unloading him. You call me a clown?

Sure bud.
First, he wouldn't pass waivers. Second, if he did, that means we already passed on him, why would we then get in a "bidding war" for him. I'm not arguing with you about getting him, i'm telling you that you don't understand the process. Now you're flip flopping, like you notoriously accused TMD of doing ad naseum.
Quote:Why would they do that and they need LB help too? So does the next team in front of us in waiver priority in the tacks.
The point is if he hits the waiver wire we have no chance at him. Should a 5th or 6th round pick be considered if it's guaranteed you're getting him?
First off, I made a mistake in my post. Meant to say offer the Eagles a conditional seven.
Second, no. I think you're dramatically overestimating Kendricks' ability and the market for his services. He's not the type of player you'll see a bidding war for.

That's fair. I think you're severely underrating the type of player Kendricks is but we can agree to disagree.

I like Kendricks, actually. I just think that giving up a fifth-round pick for him is unnecessary. Remember how the Steelers scared Coughlin into giving up a fourth-round pick for Brendan Stai?

On the other side of the coin, the Ravens gave the Jaguars a 4th Round pick for WR Kevin Johnson after the Browns cut him and a multitude of teams claimed KJ.
My take is because the Jags are in great salary cap shape, they should have viable options next March when the FA period begins. While I can see both sides of the discussion in terms of whether it's worth giving up a 5th or later Round pick for M. Kendricks, if in the Jags position I probably wouldn't give up more than a 7th Round pick. It's not a reflection on the player, who I think is a quality player. It's a reflection of the value of draft picks and the Jags excellent cap situation.
