They are already rich...it's like me giving you $10.

My roommate is not getting the $500,000. His brother is.

Apparently when u win a mil in the lottery, you can etheir take a lump sum of a lower amount ( the $500,000) or take the amount after taxes paid over a 20 year span.

Then give me $10...I need to get some scratch offs.

We'll, your roommate's got a pretty cool brother I guess.

Maybe not $10. I think it'd be more like me giving you $10,000.

Unless you also happen to be a millionaire that is.

You wouldn't give ur brother $50k if you had just won $500,000?
If he's wealthy, why does he have a roommate at all? That seems strange to me.

I don't have a brother. But if I did...probably not.

I'm the roommate. We are best friends, and still pretty young.

Plus... We like being single and boozing a lot. I'm not lying to you, I have no reason to. I saw the ticket, and they left for Tallahassee to go pick up the money like 6 hours ago. Again, it's not like I won the money.

Honesty is always the best policy.

Unless, of course, you need to lie about something.

I usually only lie if I know I'm busted for something...other than that,...okay that's a lie.

I don't think you're lying. I guess I'm just old and dislike people haha. Roommates definitely aren't my thing.

We live in a condo now. I can barely afford it as is.

That's funny that you say that, it's actually your mother.

I don't charge her rent though. Not in the form of currency anyway...

BOOM! Pirk got OWNED...sorta
Update.

Roommate just got back and said after taxes and everything, he got a lump sum of $560,000, my roommates brother gave him $60,000.

He said a couple from the Westside were there and that they won 3 mil.

I really need to start buying scratch offs.

I once won $250 in a scratch off game.  After taxes, I got $250.  Clearly the amount won has a relative impact on the taxes charged.
