Quote:No you need a number 1 receiver and to score points. Until we see that 8-8 is not realistic.
Patriots and Seahawks say hello. Neither one had a #1 WR.... You need a defense that makes plays and a QB that leads scoring drives during crucial moments in the game. Both teams also ran the ball very well (except in the SB for the Pats).

This roster has more talent than it has had in a long time. If Bradley can't get this team to 7-8 wins, he should be fired. He wouldn't be getting the most out of the roster that Caldwell has built.
Fair enough.
I feel both games against the Titans, and our game against the Bucs are winnable. I think we have a solid advantage over the Charges at home in November. I believe we will hit the season strong at home against the Panthers. If our team comes together and really gels by December we could beat the Saints, possibly the Colts. My prediction is 7 and 9. Though, we upset one other team, and we make it to 8 and 8. It's impossible to say who we really are and who we'll be until at least the pre-season, but I don't think this is beyond the scope of reality. *Knocks on Wood*

Fixed.
Jaguars 2015 Regular Season Schedule

Sep 13th - Panthers - W-
I expect a win for the first home game of the season. The Jaguars match up well against their talent.

Sep 20th Dolphins- L
- The Jaguars tend to struggle against Dolphins and Suh is a problem.

Sep 27th at NE Patriots - L
-
Tom Brady's appeal will probably get reduced to a fine and maybe two games either way this team went to the SB and won so it'll be tough.

Oct 4th at Colts- L
- The Colts went to AFC Championship game last year and were embarassed but still should be a very difficult game for the Jags this year.

Oct 11th at Bucs - L
- At this point Winston will have worked out a few of the bugs and might pick apart our weak secondary.

Oct 18th Texans- W
- I think the Jaguars have a good chance of sweeping the Texans despite JJ Watt & Clowney's imense talent on Defense.

Oct 25th Bills - L
- Rex's defense might be a Huge (Hughes) problem for the Jaguars.

Nov 8th at JETS - W
- Despite having Revis return the Jets should be easy to beat with Geno as the QB.

Nov15 at Ravens - W
- The LB core is fierce combined with a good offense yet I think Jaguars can go into Baltimore and pull off a win not the same Ravens as before.

Nov19th Titans - W
- Mariota might have excelled in Philly and probably will do good in Tenn but I expect him to struggle a bit more than Winston in his rookie year.

Nov 29 Chargers - W
- They can blame it on the flight but I think the Jaguars will be the ones that soar to victory in this game.

Dec 6 at Titans - W
- I think its fair to assume that the Jaguars might split wins this year with Tenn, but I'm being optomistic.

Dec13 Colts - L
- I think the Jaguars will sadly be swept by the Colts this year, unless we are all suprised by a break out Yeldon performance.

Dec20 Falcons - L
- Matt Ryan to Reggie White might be heard a lot in this game.

Dec 27 at Saints- L
- I dont think it will be a prety game.

Jan 3rd at Texans- L
- I figure the odds of sweeping both the Titans and Texans are low so I had to pick one of the two that we split wins with and the Texans made more sense.

-------------------------------

I was wrong last year, and the year before that when I expected the Jaguars to break .500 with that in mind this year I predict the Jaguars to win 7 games and that Gus Bradley will remain Head Coach going into next year as well... hopefully Fowler Jr. and the teams 1st round pick edge rusher will give us more hope of the playoffs in 2016.

I can't see this team making a slide to end the season like that again.

Though I'm not expecting a whole lot of wins, my "bar" of acceptability is right at or around 7 wins.

I think we can sweep the tacks. Split the tinhorns.

We'll lose one we shouldn't (Bucs?) and win won we "shouldn't" (Chargers?)

This would give us 8 wins. Which would be an "over achieving" year. But a great success in the eyes of many fans. And would put us on the door step of making real noise next year.

I think the teams that are clearly weaker in areas we should beat this season. The teams with better offensive power will manage to outscore us.

The teams we're about even with is where my crystal ball gets murky... so it's a toss up, imo, with teams like the Phins Bills, but I figure we can win some close ones

PS who is Reggie White?

I'm assuming you mean Roddy White but he's not even the one to worry about. It's Julio.
8-8 is possible. So is 0-16. This season, and every game we play is about ONE thing. Getting the laughingstock monkey off of our back. Every game we play we start with the disadvantage that the other team 'expects' to win. And further, is embarrassed to lose to us. It inspires them coming in to the game, and further inspires them to turn the momentum when we do manage to get things on track for a quarter or two.

This team needs to not just learn to win, but learn to put games totally out of reach for our opponents.

Every game is an uphill climb from start to finish, and will be for at least the next two seasons (likely more). Taking hold of this fact is paramount to turning the tide of the entire franchise.

This.

I would agree that 8-8 is 'possible'... but not probable, just as I would also agree that 1-15 is possible, but not probable. I still have doubts that we're ready to be competitive against the 'good' teams; however, I do think that we should start looking more competitive against the 'middle of the pack teams' this season. I maintain that a 5-6 win season is probably as close to a safe bet as one can get with this team this season. I would be more optimistic if we hadn't suffered two key injuries on defense already. As a result, I'm feeling like it might be smart to refrain from overly high expectations this season. If it happens that we do exceed these expectations, then that's great; if we meet the expectation of 5-6 wins, then okay. If we can't even manage 5-6 wins...

I expect that our team is a little better this season. The thing is, so are all the other teams. The question is; are we more improved than the other teams we play?
Over/Under on what week will the first "Fire Gus" thread pop up?

We should start a thread before the games starts whith the title "WHOEVER MAKES A THREAD AFTER THIS GAME TO FIRE GUS IS A BUFFOON"
we don't have any chance of winning one single game this year. we will be first team ever to go 0-20 counting preseason. our first pick got hurt we are doomed!!!!  .

Laughing Laughing Just kidding i gothca you all didn't i? Its to early to predict rght now,we haven't even had training camp. the only thing we can say for sure now is the team will play four preseason games, and 16 regular season games. to early to predict records, and as usal we got the toughest schedle of all nfl teams. Go jags

I'd just like to start the season with a win, or get a winning record at any point during the season. That would feel like a nice realistic improvement that things are going in the right direction.

The first Bortles regular season INT would be my guess. That or the first time we get held to less then 14 points in a game whichever comes first.

If we start the season with a losing streak like we have the past two years, who could blame them?
There's a fine line between possible and probable..

.500 and above is possible, but below .500 is probable..

the negativism of your post is depressing Sad ; having said that, I also think you're correct.

They started things off with an 0-8 start and looked barely alive in London against San Francisco. Since their bye, they're rallied to go 4-1 and throw themselves into the AFC Wild Card picture.

After Week 14, their playoffs took a big hit with a Miami win. But all is not lost yet.

To bring the teal roar into the postseason, the following things need to happen:

Jags win all three games This is a given. Last week there was a glimmer of hope that a tie Week 17 against Indy would still get them in, but now it's beat the Colts, Bills and Titans in a row.

Miami loses all three games. You had great weather over the weekend compared to the rest of the nation. Keep enjoying it and drop a game to each divisional opponent (Pats, Jets, Bills)

Baltimore loses all three games Lions, Pats and Bengals all wait for the Ravens. If they win one, it's nevermore for the Jags this year.

Jets go 1-2 And it's a very specific 1-2 they have to go. They need to lose against the Panthers and Browns, THEN beat the Dolphins in Week 17. Otherwise they overtake the Jags

San Diego goes 1-2 or worse Broncos, Raiders and Chiefs coming up means it's possible. Of course it's also possible the AFC West could get three teams into the postseason (Raiders could do this too with three wins in this scenario. They would have the tie break over the Dolphins and Jets)

Pittsburgh needs to lose one game. Tiebreakers fall into the Jags' favor, but if the Steelers go 3-0, it's not a tie anymore.

The dream could be crushed next weekend or live on for a crushing pre-Christmas death. Stay tuned!

I remember updated conditions for playoffs after every week. It was fun and exciting that it was possible, but depressing and sad that we were well below .500
