Quote:I don't like grading two days after draft is over (I think it takes at least two years before we can give a fair grade), so I won't do it, but overall I really like your draft. You drafted two players I was hoping we'd get - A.J. Cann and Michael Bennett (I can't believe he was there until 6th round; it would be great to have two MB's on the same D-Line). We passed on both, so they probably weren't graded that high by JS&PC, but I think they will both be great players. I also like James Sample. He was at UW for two season before transferring out. He didn't get much playing time but I always believe he had potential.

I see you didn't address LB position. What are your thoughts about that?
Nothing against T.J. Yeldon, who can be a good RB, but I was really expecting you would take a guy like Eric Kendricks or Denzel Perryman in the 2nd round.

I've been thinking about the LB position for a while now and I'm kinda okay with the fact that they didn't take one this year. Yes, McKinney is talented but is he really going to be all that good in the League? I just really feel like the talent wasn't there at the spot this time around, so why not stock up where there is talent?

Great draft

Fowler Jr - A. It wasn't expected due to all the smoke and alterations to mocks, but it's a good solid pick. Most are skeptical due to the Harvey syndrome. But he seems to have more talent, drive, and want than Harvey. So I'm good.

Yeldon - B+. This was a total shocker to me; more so from ignorance than anything. I figured Yeldon had a 3rd or 4th round grade; but yet it was a 1st with us. I watched some of his games and he has a lot of skill. But the big negative that most Bama fans put on him was his ball security. However, with DRob's former issues and seeing how he's corrected it, I have complete faith in us being able to correct Yeldon's. I now really like this pick.

Cann - A+. This was a great value pick on where he was originally projected. From what I've seen of him, he's one of those nasty physical linemen; more of what we need. Plus it's more depth at Guard with Beadles and Linder. Great pick.

Sample - A. I admit I knew really nothing about this kid. However, my grade given is from what I've heard and seen on videos. Looks like we have an all around safety here that can fill that FS spot; while still playing the SS role at times. I was really wanting to try and get Gipson from Cleveland somehow, but this has removed that feeling from my head. At least until we see him in action... lol

Greene - A+. This and the next pick was truly a steal in this draft. The kid is a leader and has great hands and good speed. Definitely won't be our #1/#2 option, but will definitely compete for them and should be our new PR.

Bennett - A+. Steal, steal, steal. Great value on a position that we may need early in the season. And if not, he gives us a lot more depth at the position. Love this.

Sterling - B-. I grade this lower because I really know nothing about this kid. However, his numbers project to possibly a future JT Smile. Hopefully he works out.

Koyack - B+. Being an ND fan, I've seen him play a lot. He did a lot of blocking, but when he was used in the passing game, he was really effective. He definitely needs some development, but could be a great asset in the future.

Overall - A. Great looking draft. Only time will tell though.

GO JAGS!!
A overall

B+ for Fowler and B for Yeldon (still not sure but hopefully he turns out well)

It's rounds 3-7 where Caldwell went nuts. Basically got 4 2nd round players from round 3 on.... which is amazing.
