Tons of options tbh between interior lineman, a RB, ILB, or FS

Poz isn't going anywhere anytime soon. If we go LB I'm thinking it's for an OTTO, so I can see Eli Harold there. I'm not sure if anyone else really fits that bill.


 

That said, I'm still thinking RB is their biggest need with Ameer Abdullah and Tevin Coleman at the top of my list. Their next biggest need would be FS, and I can see Eric Rowe filling that need with this pick.


 

Gregory would also be interesting as a 3rd down LEO possibly allowing the Jaguars to trade Clem.

So many directions to go here.


RB: Duke, Coleman, Ajayi, Abdullah - wouldn't be upset with any of these guys, but would prefer to find a back with the 3rd pick or a trade back here


WR: Strong, DGB, Lockett, Smith - kinda feel the same way here that I do with backs since it's such a deep class. Like Strong and Smith (speeeeed) the most here. Undecided on DGB if they did roll the dice with him


OL: Clemmings, Fisher - insurance for Joeckel, but it seems too early for that and could address that need next year if he struggles again


LB: Kendricks - not a big fan of Perryman since he can't defend the pass at all


DB: Quentin Rollins: sleeper here. Pretty deep at corner but he is a physical corner Gus loves and is still learning the game since he was a basketball player. Some think he could play safety as well. Or maybe move Colvin there?

I think it's one from Kendricks, Ajayi, Coleman or Abdullah.


Some of the tackles will be tempting (Fisher ?) and so will the remaining wide receivers, but I don't think there's anyone outstanding in those areas now. They were pretty well targeted in round one. Landon Collins also tempting, but as someone has already said, he's the same as Cyp.

Kendricks or Coleman ? Or a FS/OL ??


Bummer that kid from Arizona State got picked right before us.

Absolute flat NO to everyone in the drug program.   I don't care how talented they are.   We've seen 3 guys I can think of banned for a YEAR- Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon, and Dion Jordan.    We should learn something from experience. 

 

Also NO to anybody with a reputation for not playing hard all the time. 

 

I like the WR from Kansas State, Lockett, also the WR from Ohio State, Devin Smith, and I also like Kendricks, the smallish LB from UCLA who is great in coverage.  

 

I also like Eddie Goldman, DT, from FSU.   With both starting DTs having knee surgery, Goldman would be a NG type who can spell Roy Miller, who is coming off I think meniscus surgery. 

 

I don't really want a RB at the top of the second round.  Beyond Gordon and Gurley, the rest of the RBs are just guys, and we don't need just another guy.   We've already got 4 of those.   I'm willing to wait until next year and spend our late first round pick on a RB.

Isn't Eddie Goldman still available? Lots of good talent left at the top of round 2.

He scares me for a few reasons:

 

*Bama RBs haven't had great success in the NFL under the Saban era.  Their OLs are so great that I could run through most of those holes.

*TJ peaked early and kind of fizzled out last year.-- only averaged 5.0 YPC

Weaknesses
Upright runner in space, opening himself and the ball up to big hits. Pad level too high at point of collision. Mediocre power for size. Doesn't push the pile and won't run through many tackles. Pass protection lacking. Throws shoulder at pass rusher rather than squaring up and taking on with good posture. Tends to bounce and juke a little too long at the second level. Must improve ball security after fumbling 10 times over 576 career carries. Needs to improve willingness to keep play flowing play-side rather than over-thinking cutbacks.

I think they're looking to plug the final holes.

 

LEO is a premium, we went there at 3.

 

FS is open and the perfect guy for our scheme is there.

 

But then, I expected Williams or Cooper, so then they'll probably go RB instead of Rowe.  LOL

Only if they haven't watched, or even researched Rowe. He'd be a good fit.

Rowe would be 10x better than any RB. 

I've been hearing TJ Yeldon mentioned some on twitter and it makes no sense to me

Mike Dempsey mentioned that was the name he has been hearing as well.

He isn't nearly as experienced, but I like Rollins more than Rowe if they went the CB into a S pick.


I don't know the build of every FS in the league, but 6'1 205 seems too big for the position.
