Like passing on Watt for Gabbert, what could we do at 3 that we'll look back on and regret passing up?

I keep going back to Cooper and Williams. Cooper is a gym rat, who is quiet, confident and destined to be a beast at the next level. Williams is only 20 years old and this amazing already. Imagine him in a year or two.

It's scary to think we could pass on 2 sure fire guys for someone who could bust Derrick Harvey style.

I think the biggest regret would be drafting Todd Gurley at three, watching him have four good years then fall off a cliff, and seeing Leonard Williams, Dante Fowler, Vic Beasley and Amari Cooper tearing it up for six more after that.

As much as I want one of the WRs, I'm nervous about passing on Williams.
I don't wanna pass on Williams, if he is there he should be the pick imo.

Any of them could be a bust and any of them could be great, nobody knows right now, so why pick out the guys you want and say they are gonna be great and the guy you dont wont will be a bust

As long as you dont draft guys with huge red flags in the top ten

I'm no draftnik but I think pass rushers and WRs are tough to project.  There's a high percentage of busts at those positions, and the Jags have drafted their share.

I also wonder if it is wise to draft the 1st pass rusher or 1st WR in a draft so deep with both positions.  I tend to think Williams is the pick unless there's a trade down.

I'm pretty sure one of the two mentioned here will be a Jaguar by the end of the day.
Pick Williams, and he not live up to the hype.

Honestly that goes for everyone.  There's no guarantees.

Totally agree. At this point, the Jags will end up with one of the 2 most elite players in this draft. Leonard "Big Cat" Williams or "Hangin with" Amari Cooper

20 years old, though! The dude is probably still growing and he's only gonna get bigger, stronger and smarter. The upside is insane. He man-handled guys like they were inflatable toys.

You take a chance on prospects like that!
I remember when Glenn Dorsey was considered the best DL prospect in 2008. High motor. SEC guy who played well against the top competition. He went 5th overall. Still in the league, but nowhere near the impact player most expected him to be. Letroy Guion was drafted 150 picks later and is arguably a better DT. Every draft class the hype puts guys in this can't miss category, yet many are indeed misses. Plus I don't see Williams bouncing around the line like others do. I would be fine taking Cooper or Fowler even if Williams is there. It's about fit and need. Cooper would be the biggest impact IMO. Our problem last year was the offense couldn't stay on the field. Cooper has great hands and runs great routes. With the other WRs developing and Thomas at TE, we could create mismatches and get that side of the ball out of 2nd gear where they have been stuck for years.
20 yrs old... see Amobi Okoye.

Okoye was not nearly the prospect Williams is
I had a buffalo chicken wrap for lunch that is haunting me.
what would be more haunting is if Tennessee does take Mariota and he turns them into a perennial late season contender

In reality that will help even the AFCS playing field. Gives Indy one less team to just beat up on and get 2 easy wins...

Granted we need to beat them as well... but I'm all for Luck getting more competition.
Something else nobody mentioned: regretting a trade down. If that happens and Dante Fowler becomes a Pro Bowler, we surely will regret passing on him at #3 because he fills a need.

Why would we regret trading down if we landed a pro bowl caliber player just the same?    Fowler is probably the least likely Pro Bowl lock of the 3 guys we're most connected to at #3.

Agreed

Williams or trade down for White or Gurley imo
You think if we pick Williams that Gus kicks him to Big Red's old DE spot and kicks Odrick inside at DT?
