Didn't perform well in the areas that indicate short area explosion, that's crucial for an edge rusher. I think Fowler will be a good player a the next level, however I don't see a dominant pass rusher that warrants a top 3 selection.

What if he's been overhyped all along? Like Bridgewater last season?
I personally believe that's the case. Good player. Not close to pick 3 value, though.
Like all the tweeners, I've said the best are still just outside top 10 value. In a typical draft, that is...

^Agree. I was a Fowler fan (I still am but not at 3) but begun to think he wasn't good value at 3 as a 'tweener' and that there were better options.
Amari Cooper is still my guy at 3. I absolutely love him as a player.
Good. I want Williams or Cooper.
You have to understand that the media drives the perceptions and they often have agendas. Almost all the national media originally had Mariota falling to the Jets at #6, with nobody attempting to trade up for him. That was simply what many pundits would "like" to happen, to make their jobs more interesting or fun.
The Fowler to Jags thing had major legs nationally because he's a Gator and the Jags need a pass rusher. I'm sure Gus has a strong opinion about which pass rusher in this draft he would prefer. I'm also sure he didn't whisper his choice to any national media.
I see a bizarre trend now among local media. They all seem to think there's a strong chance the Jags will package several picks and trade back up into Round One. Why would anybody think that? But they keep bringing it up. Is it just because they want something Jag-oriented to talk about as the long night stretches on to 10:00, 11:00, and beyond? Oesher especially won't stop talking about it, and others have caught this fever. Do they know something? They all believe Dave wants to trade away his Day 2 picks and some of Day 3 for a RB. I personally think Gurley is a high risk and would be fine with getting a RB in the 3rd round.
