I just read a rumour that Atlanta would like to trade for Bruce Irvin. All speculation I'm sure since:

A. Seattle won't be picking up his 5th year option. &

B. Atlanta needs a pass rusher. &

C. Quinn + Atlanta = Seattle South part Deux

But these are just rumours. And rumors in the NFL are never more prevalent than the days before the Draft. But let's get this one started right here, right now. You know who else needs a Pass Rusher? Yep, Jacksonville. You know who had a big hand in creating the dominant Seattle Defense? Yep, Coach Gus Bradley of THE Jacksonville Jaguars. You know who drafted Bruce Irvin? Exactly.

If, and that's a big IF something were to happen over next 48-72 hours, it would allow Jacksonville to address other needs in the draft (Leonard Williams please please please baby Jesus), while gaining a player that could step right in and not miss a beat. Or getting an Edge later in the draft without a need to start him right away. All speculation, but it'd be nice to see it gain legs.
I like where your mind is headed. Was pondwring over the same situation. But other than draft picks whatelse can't he Jags trade for Irvin? Caldwell feels that it is best to build through the draft than through Free Agency or trading. But we will see. This is similar to whether the Jags should of took the bait with the 2nd Rd tender on Tashaun Gipson this offseason. But like they say in the NFL, nobody bites on tenders unless they're chicken.
Mmmm....chicken tenders. Wonder what Seattle is/would ask.
If the price is high, then before we make that trade, we would need to sign him to a contract extension.  On the other hand, if all they want is a 5th round pick, we can take that risk.

On the other hand, once again we have the same question about a pending free agent.   Why is Seattle letting him leave or trading him away?

What would you give up for any of these players? All still with 2 years on thier contracts (pick up 5th year)

These players could be used by their respective teams as part of a package to move up...

However I just read the Eagles are also willing to part with Mychal Kendricks... add him with Cox, and the Eagles 1st plus a couple other picks and it might make the long slide worth it.

The Seahawks slide would be much further, so I'm not sure... and I doubt we have many players they want.

Tonight should be interesting.

To say the least.
I just have a feeling it will be straight forward for us and in the end we will not trade up or down in any round.

I would love nothing more than one of these scenerios but alas they are dream ones.
