The Republic of the Marshall Islands is a very dedicated ally of the US. This is hardly different from attacking a US ship.

This whole thing is a mess. To me, it seems that the nuke deal is now on life support and on the verge of flat lining

Not sure how to even respond to you on this.  Have you not been watching the news?

eh I don't know I see Alex Jones push that narrative on infowars a lot but I don't buy it. Russia or more definitively Putin has plenty to gain by confronting a weak US Administration. Just stop and think in the past few years Russia has asserted itself once again as a major geo-political factor when just the last election cycle Mitt Romney was laughed at for suggesting they could pull off such a move.

Either way Global powers play both sides but I don't buy the narrative Russia has nothing to gain by having conflict with Western powers. Truth be told Russia would gain greatly if the Western world where to step back especially fiscally. To me that's the real game, Russia and China working to undermine the dollar, that's the real war it's a currency war.

Probably should be concerned with the Ruble first neh?

If you do not think the new cold war is a currency war you are not paying attention.  The US Dollar has been the international currency since the 70's.  That is when it replaced the British Sterling Pound.  Several countries are moving away from the US Dollar.  This will not bode well with yours, mine and everyone American's current state of living.  I do not remember all of the details about the pain the common Brit felt back when the pound was replaced but I do recall it was not good.

If I misread some sarcasm in your reply my humble apologies.

Nah they don't have an illusions of using the ruble they just need the dollar to implode and create a need for a global trade currency. Our power isn't really our military it's our control of trade through the dollar. Remove the global dependency on the dollar and were extremely vulnerable.

EDIT: I'm not going to explain.

I agree that many countries are working together to undermine the U.S. Dollar and are engaging in economic warfare with us, but I'm talking about an actual military conflict with Russia here.

Honestly I don't think we will ever see a military conflict between two super powers again the weapons are just to advanced ( not even talking nukes).

It was a dig at the state of their economy.

So what is the solution exactly? I am not going to lie I do not understand this situation you two are talking about. How countries use our currency and not theirs and other than the perceived value of an individual currency which, unless I am mistaken, revolves mostly around it's own economy, why it even matters. China and Russian will do what they want and it's not with us. It's not like you can force them to do whatever it is you guys are saying should be done in what seems to be a purely immaterial matter (as in what kind of fight can you have over something that doesn't exist).

I probably just don't understand this at all.

Ok in short the world has an international currency.  Currently it is the US dollar which btw allows our country to borrow so much money from China.  If and when the USA defaults on those loans, or when our debt ratio is so far out of balance the world will look to a new standard to trade in.  When that happens the US dollar will be worthless on the international market, and when that happens our current standard of living will be turned on its head.
Doing yard work. And as I do, I'm listening to Glenn beck... he made a great point.

The ship was from the Marshall islands... Glenn argues that this ship that was boarded was a Marshall ship because they wanted they wanted to avoid taxes. But now that stupid anti American tax evader wants our help.

Glenn says, to bad so sad....

I'm in agreement with Glenn in this one.

You want to put your ship under a non US flag, and then cry foul, don't expect the tax payers of the US to protect you.

These tax dodgers should realize they aren't Americans. We need to realize that as well.

Perhaps you and Beck should research the concept of "Associated State."
