Just where does this guy fit? He seems like a natural slot guy who will pretty much solidify the Returner role the moment he gets on a roster, with a few exceptions of course. He's a bit small(ish) and he doesn't have quite the downfield speed that you may like, but would he be an attractive target for the team in the Second Round? He was very productive at USC and played in a Pro Style so his transition to the next level won't be as drastic as some other players.

Thoughts?

If he's there in the 2nd and we didn't get Cooper, I'd be pleased getting him.  I don't think he falls to us though.  He'd be perfect for our slot.

That's the way I am leaning. He's nowhere near the talent of Cooper, but he'd be a nice Second Round "consolation" prize if the team went somewhere other than WR in Round One.
Yeah, he's my favorite slot/PR guy in the draft.  I'd take him in a trade-back in round 2 if he's available.

How far back do you go? Where does his value lie in your eyes?
I like him but probably not enough to take him at the top of round 2, and don't think he'll make it to the 3rd round, would be a steal in the 3rd IMO

It depends on who's available TBH.

I wouldn't take him over some guys that may be there at 36 like Preston Smith, Cam Erving, or even Melvin Gordon.

I also don't think he will be there in round 3.

I think a reasonable deal would be something like we did last year with Allen Robinson.

So here's a question for you: do you "drop back" to get him, or take a guy you like better, then come up and take him in the middle of the Second, but maybe costing you some picks?

I'd probably trade up to target him from my 3rd round pick if the pickings are getting slim.  I think he could be one of the last "difference makers"... I also wouldn't want to give up too much for him.  I think he's a good prospect, but we're not "close" to anything so I don't like the idea of trading up.
If these rumors of 7 or 8 WR in the 1st round are true he could very well be gone by 36.

best case scenario in that case would be Amari Cooper at 3, followed by 7 other WRs in the 1st round, which drops other great prospects that we didn't think would be available to 36.

Yeah, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. I would be quite happy with him already off the board for the reason you said.
Funny, I was just thinking the same thing. If we think we can get Yeldon, Abdullah or Ajayi in round three then this might be a very good pick. He sounds like a very steady performer in the slot. I'd rather have a player like him than another raw talent. And I'm not sure there is a safety or linebacker worth taking at the top of round two either.
I think he goes mid 2nd but i wouldnt be surprised if hes gone by 36.
Heard a radio interview with Brian Kelly, Notre Dame's football coach.  They asked him about the WRs coming into the draft, as his team played Devante Parker (Louisville), Nelson Agholor (USC), and Jaelen Strong (Arizona State) in 2014.  He said if he were an NFL team, he would take Agholor for his versatility and ability to work both inside and outside over the others.

I feel like that is an insight as to how Coaches view Wide Receivers and really, Offensive players in general. If you can be a one trick pony with a really, really good trick (think Chris Johnson in his heyday) then you put him out there to threaten the Defense with that trick.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"See that Wide Receiver right there? He runs a 4.3 and I've got him backed off the line to escape the jam and I'm going to put him in motion so you can't get a clean cut on him. Try and stop him"

Barring that, they want guys with versatility; It's an all or nothing type of game. If you cannot take the top off the Defense with your speed, then you better be able to run a good route, have dependable hands,  be able to return kicks, and have a good hand at the laundry while you're at it.

This is what I think Agholor brings. He's not a threat to score on every play, but he is a threat to make a play every time. That being said, I don't like him until after the top third of the Second Round.
