Anyone have inside knowledge on this guy? Seems like he's spent a fair amount of time on the Trainer's table but he has some okay numbers production-wise. He couldn't perform on his Pro Day either so his evaluation will lean more heavily on interviews, game tape, and personal workouts.
Here's the numbers on him I could dig up.

That's kind of what I was thinking he would be. Maybe he'll be this years version of Aaron Colvin in that he has good traits, he just needs time. With Colvin, he simply needed time to heal; with Anderson maybe he just needs time to develop. I wouldn't go any earlier than the Fifth Round, but he's a guy that warrants a look to me.

I agree. Stick him on the shelf this year and go from there. He would hopefully, eventually become Marcedes Lewis replacement next offseason.

Yup. And to be honest, I like this idea a lot better than having to draft a Maxx Williams in Round Two just to get a guy. If Anderson can be just as productive but only a season later, I think it's worth the effort.

A late round pick (or possible UDFA) as productive as the consensus #1 TE in the draft? And after only a year of development? And you "think it would be worth the effort" if that all magically came together?

Sure, why not? I probably didn't word that all too well though. I probably should have put that if Anderson can produce at a comparable level (maybe not as much, nor as soon) but could be had after some time developing, it's an attractive option for the team seeing as how they have two "workable" Tight Ends right now.
And having a guy with those measurements that is reported to have "outstanding play speed as a Tight End" might not need as much magic to become productive as we all think.
This is such a weak TE class that Rory Anderson might go a round or greater higher than in a typical draft.
I can see the Saints drafting Rory Anderson in the middle rounds. Especially consifdering that they traded Jimmy Graham and have 5 picks in the top 3 Rounds, At this stage of his career Ben Watson is probably not going to be able to stretch a Defense. Anderson could be a situational player for them in the short run, with a much bigger role if he develops.
