You will need to spend a lot more time in church if you are going to pray for 9 wins and really hope to come anywhere close to that number.
One thing that seems constant is that perception usually tails reality. So when the team does initially get back to the playoffs it will probably be in a year when the majority of people are picking them to win 6 games or less.

I'm really not sure about how 'constant' the idea of 'perception usually tails reality' is, but I do know that the predictions from
Vegas tend to be accurate more often than not; after all, there is money at stake in those predictions. Nevertheless, I don't know of any Jags fan who wouldn't be thrilled for the team to make the playoffs even if the majority of those same fans were only expecting no more than 6 wins... unless possibly it was those fans who might have wagered that we wouldn't make the playoffs.

No way this team flounders that much. 6 wins is my minimum guess. With a more optimistic 7-8 wins being my guess for our finish.
