Here's a slideshow with a nice breakdown of the safety prospects for this years draft. This draft isn't the best for pure safety prospects as many have pointed out. Prospect number two on his list probably intrigues me the most.
Josh Shaw is another one that I find interesting.
I see they're comparing Tartt with Cyp
Sample/Tartt are SS only, Holliman is tissue soft and a horrible athlete, and Collins will go too early. Other than that I have heard mostly good things about all of those top 10 guys. Add in some of the convert options like Rowe and Ifo (and we can still dream about Byron Jones) and there should be plenty of options for Dave to pick the FS flavor he likes I hope.
Actually might shouldn't say that about Collins, I've heard a fair bit of buzz saying they wouldn't be surprised if he fell to the 2nd round.

Collins is on the cusp of being fat. I don't know I'd he would bring anything in coverage better than Cyprien
Landon Collins similar to Harrison Smith ? If he is, then he'd be a great pick for us. But isn't he more of a strong safety ?
Anthony Harris or Derron Smith sound more realistic in the middle rounds.
But what has happened to Chris Hackett ??? He was their number one rated safety a couple of months ago. But they've relegated him to number 25 on their list, based purely on a poor 40 time at the Combine (a time which he improved on significantly at his pro day...)
This year, the corners who can play safety interest me more than the "pure" safeties.

an NFL off-season will cure that very quickly .. see: Alshon Jeffrey

you have examples of the opposite happening as well.

Looking at Shaw and Rowe in the 4th...
Even if it takes them some time to come along in it behind a Sergio Brown, if they work out well, then a steal in the 4th.
If it looks like the project isn't working, possibly address FS in free agency or highly in the draft next year.

I'd be quite surprised if Rowe was there on day 3. Seems like everyone likes him, either as a CB or FS. I think he quite possibly goes in the 2nd personally, but 3rd round seems like the sweet spot.
this is a pretty weak class if you are looking for an elite safety.. not to say you might find a late round gem, but there is no real stand out/can't miss.. you'll need to predict the future to find a starter here
If we are looking to develop a free safety we have to select someone that literally flies around the field!

Clark Kent in the 5th round!

Yes!
Alex Carter: CB/FS from Stanford in round 3?
Give me Drummond in the 4th. Defensive back of the year, great hips, great instincts, good measurables
