Never heard of Smelter until he visited Jaguars. So I went to Utube and watched some of his highlights. He is real quick and fast. One of those WR on a team that runs the ball all the time. Could be a target in the later rounds or college FA. Of course, if the Jaguars take a slot receiver in the second round, then unlikely that they would spend a draft pick on him.
My response from the other thread:
Just like Bowanko from last year. If he's available in the 6th or 7th I expect Dave to pull the trigger. He had the potential to be a day 2 pick if not for his injury. He could be the steal of the draft and is exactly what you're looking for in the late rounds, high upside, big potential fliers.
As I mentioned in the other thread, he's been a forgotten man due to the injury. I'd look at him in the 5th round at the earliest.
Seems like he can play. I hope they are looking at Ty Montgomery also.. Potential steal in the later rounds as well.
Smelter was a top ~50 guy until he got hurt. He was looking a lot more like Demaryius than Hill at the time. Very, very good gamble with our 4th rounder...maybe even 3rd.
I like that he was very good at Baseball as well. Some guys are just flat-out athletes and are good at multiple things. Has elite size/speed combination so he's definitely worth a shot.

He ain't going that high. Not in this deep of a WR class.

Don't be surprised if he does. Once you get past the 1st round WRs, he'll probably be the most talented one left. Could be the steal of the draft if he makes it to day 3.
