Speculating they may be targeting a receiver in a move up the draft.

Would you be willing to move down to #14 for say their 2nd and Dion Jordan?

Picking at #14 puts us at a good spot to draft Gurley as well.
...........no...?
We are in a great spot to receive multiple trade offers from teams who need a WR because Oakland will definitely be taking one at 4. If mariota falls to 3 as well then things will really get interesting.

I would take that trade and take Gurley in a heart beat. Jordan doesn't fit their system at all and a change of scenery and system will do well for him. He'd make a great candidate for Leo.
Just for comparison's sake, according to the draft value chart, our #3 is worth 2200 and #14 + #47 is worth 1530. The remaining 670 filled in by Dion Jordan equates to pick #27.5.

My bad- read it wrong. 1st 2nd and Jordan.

............maybe...?

No. Jordan's a monumental bust.
They can keep Jordan. Throw in another 4th round pick and next years 1st and we can talk.

I am not, nor have I ever been, very high on Jordan. However, Miami lacks a 3rd rounder and may not want to offload very many draft picks and Jordan makes the most sense for them to offload, while making sense as a LEO for the Jags.

At #14 one of the "2nd tier" and possibly one of the "top" LEO prospects will be available. Whether that be Gregory, Harold, Dupree, Ray etc. I'd rather take the pick vs the player.

I don't disagree with you. I was just throwing Jordan out there because it "makes sense."

I would prefer Gurley at #14 than the 2nd tier pass rushers, but to each their own.

I would as well. But if Gregory is there I have to think long and hard about the selection. If we pick up an extra 2nd rounder in the trade I would definitely consider trading back into the first to get Gurley.
Why do people want Dion Jordan? He stinks.

Obviously the guys paid to do it know more than me but the reasoning to me would be you could get a guy that seems to have been really misused by the dolphins, he's shown flashes, and he's a perfect Leo candidate.

He was a former top 5 pick and if you can get him and trust that he will produce at the Leo than you turn one first rounder into a whole lot more.

No.

Dion Jordan does not help matters at all.

But Oregon had him in their system for three years and didn't have him rush the passer much.  They dropped him into coverage.

If he was that good at rushing the passer, why didn't Oregon have him rush the passer?

If he was that good at rushing the passer, why didn't the Dolphins start him?
Big edge setting/coverage guy that isnt a great pass rusher...sounds like Otto over Leo

Yep, when I heard about the OTTO and what they wanted from it, the first thing I thought was "man, Dion Jordan sounds like a perfect fit for this position".

He wouldn't be the first guy that's been used incorrectly for a long time and he wouldn't be the first guy I'm totally wrong about
Dion Jordan sucks

After thinking about a trade down with Miami, I am intrigued by the possibilities.

However, I have some caveats:

1)  There are only two players on that Miami Roster I might want thrown into the deal:  Pouncey or Wake.  Otherwise, none of their players seem appealling.

2)  If trading down to get a RB is the goal, I would applaud the move, but Minnesota would be a threat to take Gurley at 11.  If the Jaguars would be comfortable taking Melvin Gordon at that spot, or have other viable alternatives at 14, then I would feel better about the deal.

3)  I would want nothing less than their two this year and next year in return.
