Hi guys.  Just thought I'd see if any of you folks are experienced in video editing and would recommend any Mac-based freeware or consumer-level software that rivals or supersedes iMovie?  

 

I'm new to this - but have several clips and stills to edit together for a 3-4 minute montage.  Will be using audio already embedded as well as a separate audio source at times.  (Bits of 4 different songs) \

Recommendations welcome. 

I have a program called Lightworks installed on my PC. It works fine but I have no idea whether it's than iMovie or if it's even available for Mac.

I have ever used AppGeeker editor in my iMac, the result is not bad. it may work for you, you may give it a shot.
