Full Version: Three senior bowlers

Last year, Gus and Dave used their inside knowledge of the Senior Bowl squads to pick up a couple of late-round gems and Chris Smith.

If we do the same again this year (I think it's fairly likely) then which three players are we most likely to go for, if available ?

I'm going to guess at...

Stephone Anthony

Jaquiski Tartt

Ameer Abdullah
David Johnson, Denzel Perryman, Tyler Lockett.
I like this topic, I will take 3 guys (positions) from the South team.

Stephone Anthony would be great, him at 36 would make me happy.

Whichever of the slot WR (Dorsett or Lockett) that is available in the 3rd round would be sweet.

David Johnson, hopefully in the 4th, would be the dream start to day 3.
From the north team I like quinten Rollins as a possible fs. Basketball players with good instincts and can track the football. Also like Devin Smith OSU. He can take the top off a def and the jags don't have a receiver like him on the team.

From the South team I really like Lockett. Always seems to be open and we can finally get rid of ace. Ladarius Gunter is a long, physical corner from Miami that might be there on day 3.
No one knows who we are most likely to go after but the three I would like are

Stephons Anthony

Devin Smith

Damarious Randlall
Would love for us to get Stephone Anthony, but I don't think he will be there at 36, and even if he is, I suspect we go offense in the 2nd (unless we go offense in the first).
anthony and prewitt would be guys to keep an eye on

For a later round guy, FB Jalston Fowler was on the South Team, and there is a back hole on the current Jag roster.

I'll say Cody Prewitt, David Johnson, and Lyndon Trail.

The three that it seemed the coaches were paying the most attention to, in my opinion, were Denzel Perryman, Lorenzo Mauldin, and La'el Collins.
Perryman, Collins and Mauldin sounds good.
Perryman had a potentially serious hammy injury at his pro day.

— Scouts at the University of Miami pro day told me linebacker Denzel Perryman went down with a hamstring injury after running his second 40 yard dash. One scout said it "looked bad", and is worth monitoring. A tear or significant injury could severely affect his draft stock.

Perryman could be this year's Colvin-value pick.
Shaq Mason C/G Georgia Tech

Tony Lippett WR/CB Michigan State

David Cobb RB Minnesota

This topic is really key to projecting the Jaguars' draft.

I have come to like Stephone Anthony as the LB most likely to be drafted to replace Poz next year.  The problem is that the Jaguars would have to use their round 2 draft choice to get him.  The Jags might use that draft choice on a RB.  It depends on how high a priority it is for them to get a particular RB.  If the Jaguars want a particular RB chances are they will have to use that round 2 choice to get that RB, unless they target Davis or a later round RB.

Shaq Mason, C/G, Georgia Tech is a real option to be the backup C/G.  It is a position that is open and the Jaguars had the opportunity to get a real good look at him.

During the course of last year the Jaguars cut one FA LB and the team lost two more to FA.  So I think we can expect one more LB in the draft.  Who it will be I don't have a good feel for.  Several options have been mentioned by others on this topic.
