Quote:2 straight years now that Wiz has been among the best run blocking and worst pass blocking centers in the league. I legit don't know if he would be an upgrade on Bowanko. The reason he has taken so long to sign, at least what has been said, is that he is waiting for a team to guarantee him a starting job. Maybe he has relented from that stance since the interest has been so lukewarm, however.
I like the deal if it's a depth/competition signing, but if there is some guarantee that he will start I would pass.
His recent surgery coupled with his exorbitant contract demands are the main culprits in the reason as to why he remains unsigned.

My thing is he should know the protections of the Olson offense.
That should help the rest of the OL learn more quickly.

If he hadn't fallen off a cliff pass blocking the last two years I think many teams would be willing to give him the same AAV that Skuta got.

Best case is he comes in and earns a starting spot.
Worst case is he doesnt earn a starting spot and provides quality depth on the interior. I dont see anything wrong with this signing should it happen.

Lol remember that talk about liking the group we have and we're going with them into the following season, thank God that was all nonsense.

Pretty much. His agent would be smart to push for a one year deal with hopes of hitting the market again next season. Caldwell would be smart to lock him up to a multi year contract while his value is as low as it is currently.

That still may hold true. But this would be an opportunity to add to the competition.

Would like to sign him. Familiarity with Greg Olsen, and bolsters the overall line. And considering ours was one of the worst last year, we should be showing some urgency. This move would possibly free up a draft selection that could be used elsewhere. Can't imagine that an OL is not slated to be drafted, if everything remains the same up until the draft

I agree. Kid is still only 26 years old and is a quality Center and Guard. Can't go wrong with a signing like this.

Finally

Seems too good to be a backup. Either way would be a quality signing for depth/competition at the least.

A guy that's been on the market for three weeks comes for a visit is supposed to prove something?

At worst, you get quality depth and scheme familiarity. Hopefully they can get him signed.

I would be very happy if we did pick him up.

He'd be an immediate upgrade over Bowanko. However, that's not saying much.

Good hope we sign him, I want vets adding on the OL not more rookies

Can't imagine that an OL is not slated to be drafted, if everything remains the same up until the draftLast year in training camp, we had Brewster-undrafted, who had maybe a year's experience, who wasn't particularly strong for a C, and who couldn't seem to snap out of shotgun to save his life. We also had Bowanko, lowly drafted, zero experience, and a largely unknown.
If we can pull Wisniewski into the fold, we'll have a highly drafted 4 year starter at C and a 1 year starter going into camp.
What a difference a year can make.

this should be a no-brainer.
sign him up and let him compete in camp. If he's the player he used to be, he'll beat out Bowanko and start for us.
