I know that everyone has the Jaguars taking Dante Fowler Jr. but why not Vic Beasley. My first two rounds would be Vic Beasley and then Jay Ajayi. The reasons are simple, Beasley put on weight and did an above average job at the combine and then I would take Jay Ajayi not only because he can run but because the new offensive coordinator Olsen likes to give the ball to the RB's out of the back field. As much as I love DRob, I saw him drop enough passes that I would like to see an RB that comes out of a system where the running back is the center of the offense in running and receiving.
Olson wants someone to get the tough yards up the middle. Ajayi isn't that guy. The guy you want is Ameer Abdullah.

Lol what? His comparison is lynch, your posts never make sense
Does anyone else get the idea that the draft has become political?
Everyone has their candidates and they have to campaign for them while at the same time bash the other guy's candidate.
Last time I checked, this ain't no democracy and we got no vote in the matter.
Personally I don't care. Everybody wants to be an expert. I'll just sit back and watch what Caldwell does since that's pretty much all you can do anyway.

Watch him run and read up on his weaknesses. Lynch is a horrible comparison.

That's not how this works...

That's every draft. Its like some people think Caldwell is going to be convinced by their "evaluations."

..some people think they are paid scouts on staff
The draft is supposed to be fun. It is a chance to discuss with other fans their hopes, dreams and wishes for the Jags based upon some glimmer of hope that a new infusion of talent brings to the Jags roster. Nobody can win in the draft and nobody can lose in the draft, so it does not need to be a campaign for your guy because chances are your guy will not be chosen by Dave Caldwell and then what do you do? Go home and take your ball with you?

Been like that for a few years.
You must pick a side, dig you heels in and be behind only "your guy".
Last year you were either with Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr or Manziel. You cannot be positive about more than one of them. You must pick a side.
This year it is the same story with the pass rushers.
Looking at this thread I am wondering something. I thought there was now a minimum post count (maybe 5?) to start a thread.

I know right. God forbid if I like Beasley, Fowler, Gregory, and Ray.
OK draftniks I have a couple of questions.
1st: Is it me or does Leonard William's first step step seem to be slow? On tape vs college players he seems to make up for it or overcome it if you will, but he definitely doesn't look quick to me off the snap. The NFL is so much faster than College having an elite first step or first move is critical to get to the QB.
2nd: Is Fowler just getting mocked to the Jags (over and over and over again) because he played in the sunny state of Florida? I've noticed A LOT of bias on this board for Florida players.
3rd: Why isn't Beasely getting mocked to the Jags very often? The guy has an elite first move which I've already said is extremely important in the NFL- it's the base which you build your counter moves from of which Beasley utilitizes the spin move and the bull rush. The more I see of Beasely the harder it is not to want him to be a jag so why isn't he worth the number 3 pick?

It wasn't a bad post by the OP. In fact, it was inviting a debate about Fowler v. Beasley. I would be fine with either. Both guys could arguably play LEO, but if they don't prove to be much of an upgrade to Branch/C. Smith they could be used at OTTO and still be productive. The consensus is that Fowler is the better prospect, perhaps because he's bigger, but I don't see a huge difference; therefore, I'm rooting for a modest trade down within the top 10 so the Jags could net more picks yet also draft Beasley, Cooper, or White.
Cooper reminds me of JSmooth while White reminds me of Fitzgerald. Both could be the true number 1 and allow Lee to flourish in the slot and Robinson to become a strong possession receiver rather than the focal point for defenses.

He is mocked to the Jaguars by everyone on NFL.com. Don't think that has anything to with a bias on this board.
It's more like this. The Jaguars need a pass rusher. Fowler is the highest rated pass rusher. That is it.

What's funny too is that most people will talk about their guy as if he is a complete certainty, not considering the fact that guys who get paid millions of dollars to evaluate these players are wrong quite frequently.
Not Joe Message board though, he has watched every game from ________ and he is the best _________ in the draft. Will be an all-pro at the next level. Don't argue with me bruh.

But have you seen his SPARQ Spider Chart??? I mean have you studied it? No, didn't think so. You's a box score scout. You can't even spell cutup.
