Cleveland got off easy.
Falcons punishment is about what I expected. Though I wonder if we'll see any other teams that pump noise in get punished the same.

A 5th round pick? That's more boring than the ending to The Village.

Suspending their GM is a punishment?

For the Browns that's more of a bonus

I love that the Atlanta employee responsible is Roddy White. Not the WR.

Falcons fined $350K and lose a 2016 5th round pick for illegal pumping in of noise. Team employee found responsible no longer w /team
All things considered, the Falcons got a light penalty. In essence, when factoring in present value, the Falcons lost the equivalent of a 6th Round pick in 2015. The fine is close to pocket change for Arthur Blank.

The Falcons lose a five next year and get a fine that could be mistaken for a rounding error? That's it?
I've seen people complaining that suspending Ray Farmer for the first four weeks of the season is hardly a punishment, since he'll still be around for the draft and preseason. I'd counter that suspending Farmer during the draft would actually have been doing the Browns a favor. Letting the janitor run the draft board can't be any worse than the results they've gotten the last few years with actual GMs (and an owner taking advice from a homeless guy).

Goodell probably didn't want to go too hard on the owners since those are two potential votes to stay in office as commissioner..

What no fine for the Colts? Without the manufactured crowd noise that place would be a museum.

That, and they probably also deserve to be fined for all the wasted time/effort to chase the shadow that is Deflate Gate.

Goodell is a joke.

Seriously this ownership has really worked hard to erase the visual of the tarps. The way they have setup the end zones to keep the capacity expandable for the annual FLvGA game while improving the stadium is impressive.
To me it is more embarrassing for the TV to show large sections of fans sitting on their hands and sipping their beers while a deafening roar is captured at the same time. The visual and the audio don't match.
