Hell has a special seat for this guy.

RIP peoples

Quote:So the co-pilot murdered an entire plane full of people?? They need to do some serious mental evaluations before giving anyone a pilots license.
They did. He passed them all.

Then it's not good enough or often enough. Ugh - just upsetting.

Germanwings co-pilot battled depression in '09, friends say

The co-pilot who authorities say deliberately crashed Germanwings Flight 9525 into the French Alps, killing all 150 aboard, had battled depression and burnout in the past, his friends told the German magazine Der Spiegel.

There are rumors that he was given a leave that included the date of the crash.  Also rumored he had issues with his gf leading up to this.

He was initially labeled as unfit to fly in his training, took time off, came back and passed. FWIW anyway. It sounds like this guy just snapped. Hard to predict that kinda thing.

Horrible incident.
Usually, I can't stand anything out of this guys mouth, but I'm in complete agreement with him here. Hell hath froze over............

Depressed pilots on medication for mental illness should not be flying passenger planes. That's not insensitive - it's protecting lives

This is truly a devastatingly sad sad story.

It's just so hard to imagine someone purposely committing such a horrible act like that.

Just awful.

I found out a couple hours ago that a foreign exchange student I went to high school with was a flight attendant on that plane. I played lacrosse with him my freshman year; he was a good dude. One of those things that makes you realize it's a small world.
