I noticed today is the birthday of one of my all-time favorite players, Brad Meester!

First class guy and player. I hope to be able to meet him someday even though he's retired. One of the most consistent, hardworking guys this team has ever had.

Not that he will ever see this but happy birthday, Brad! You will forever be one of my favorite Jaguars.

What are your thoughts on Brad Meester being inducted into the Pride?
I'm guessing because he's from Iowa?

Small part of it yes. I played center my entire football career. I always looked up to Brad and respected him.

I say hell no.

Nice player for a while, but was just average for most of his career.

You don't play for 13 years in this league with 4 different coaching staffs to be condsidered just average. If that was the case he would've been gone a long time ago.

Hell no? Little harsh there for the man who was the anchor of our line for years. But I dont think he makes it based on Center not being a flashy position.

I'd say he doesn't belong in there. Brad was a very good player here for a long time, but I feel like the Pride of the Jaguars should be reserved for the truly transcendent players of the franchise. Only Hall of Fame caliber players like Boselli, Taylor, and Jimmy Smith should be the players to have that type of honor.

There's an obvious difference in longevity and history, but it would be cool to see the Jaguars do something similar to Green Bay. There's a Packer Hall of Fame that seems to have an inductee or two every year and then there is the Ring of Honor that is only for the all-time greats. Having a Wall/Hall of Fame would be a nice way to honor the very good, but not great players of our franchise without diluting the Pride with a bunch of inductees. Meester, Greg Jones, McCardell, and Daryl Smith among others are the types of players who I feel deserve some form of recognition, but shouldn't be placed in the Pride.

Edit: Also happy birthday Brad!

Today is also MJD's Bday
