Quote:Yep, we were down 6-0 at half at Indy..sigh..
Special teams were awful. I almost felt that every field goal attempt was going to get blocked.
Actually the Jags were down 6-3 at halftime.
I remember this game well because the Indy fans actually booed Luck while they were going into the tunnel with a measly 3 point lead and not scoring a TD in the first half against the lowly Jags.

It ended up being just another wasted effort by the defense by the frustrating offense, one of many last season.
Hopefully next year is a different story.
Yeah, I remember feeling bad for the defense quite a few times last season. That said, the offense may be one of the reasons the defense was getting so good, you know, with the defense spending so much time on the field and all. Lots of practice.
I used to make the same joke about the Bucs and Ravens defenses when they were good. Same thing with them, their offenses were horrible.

Well then for my viewing pleasure I would rather have a great offense and a bad defense.
John Cyprien played a really good game also. Looked imposing out there.
Unfortunately this was one of those games where the Jags missed some opportunities out there.
Jags offense needs to get better. Those should be automatic wins in the NFL when you dominate like that.
How did Odrick look against us?
Odrick talked about this game in his press conference. Mentioned how our def was awesome and couldn't figure out why Miami's line couldn't get pressure like we were.
This sounds like many of the jags game last year. We did compete much better last year then before.
Where did you watch it? Online?

Nothing like that minimum wage humor
Lots of love for our 26th ranked defense last year. They have as much work to do as the offense if we're going to make strides this year.

False. They have work to do, but not even close to what the offense has to do.
Try rewatching the Titans game. My lord we turned the ball over in the red zone SO MANY times.
The last Texans game was just bad. The score was 23-17 but it didn't look that close. We really had no offense the entire time. We got a field goal off a forced fumble by I think Clemons (the drive only went 10-15 yards); we got a pick 6 by Gratz on a terrible Case Keenum throw, behind Hopkins, that should have been an easy first down; then we got another forced fumble by Ryan Davis and had a one-play TD scoring drive... which SHORTS threw the 30 yard TD, not even Bortles. That was our 17 points.
Then Telvin Smith ends the Texans' last drive by himself, getting all three tackles in a three-and-out of course (they were all solo tackles), including one where he got drive blocked 6 yards back and still came back to the ball and stuffed the run. Stud.
But even the 2 minute drive, which was an impressive display by Blake Bortles, was handicapped by him getting a 40 yard run and a couple screen passes actually working.
Then the last series, from the 9 yard line...
-1st down, perfect throw to Cecil Shorts, bumps into Marqise Lee and drops the ball horribly, Lee is injured, there goes our speedy mismatch. And there goes our touchdown because that ball was in Shorts's hands in the red zone. Done. Bye bye Texans.
-2nd down, dinky pass to Allen Hurns, he gets 5 yards and out of bounds, that's nice i guess.
-3rd down, call a mindless, obvious, fade route to Marcedes Lewis who rarely even gets jump balls these days, and he lazily throws one arm up and doesnt jump and looks for a flag. Like, dude, you're 6 foot 6 just shove your arms in the air and TAKE that ball, he was covered by a CORNER! I don't care if he's holding you, use that MMA training and rip your arms away from him and take that ball. Christ. It's football not frisbee.
-4th down, man. really nice, spiral, ALMOST perfect throw, nice diving catch, tried to drag the toe... can't even be mad at that point. it was maybe 6 inches out of bounds.,
I am furious about the Texans sweeping us this year. We can't lose like that. I want to see more confident offensive progress and I want to see somebody, Scherff/Fisher/Humphries/Parnell i don't care, blocking JJ Watt.

After those first 4 games. Those were just plain ridiculous.
Quote:How did Odrick play?
He's going to be a complete waste of money here.
Thank god we got Thomas / Pierce otherwise this offseason would have been worse than last year.
