I'm sure the guy is a nice guy and all, and he seems charismatic but, there's always something that I felt was a little off in his videos. And in that I mean he seems like he sugar coats things a lot. This video here is just bad. Look at these plays, so much smh in this video. I can't take this guy seriously anymore.

He's a Jaguars homer as is Tony Boselli. I take whatever they say with a grain of salt.
Lageman is the real deal. He rarely sugar coats, and his break downs of film on the Jaguars show on Monday nights show it. Extremely knowledgeable of the game, and can break it down and explain it to where a novice can understand.
What exactly in the video are you referring to?
Him communicating complex schemes to those that don't know isn't the problem but, he feels in the video that those were key plays to notice in our horrible secondary? Starter quality for the Jaguars but it's like he's just getting us to accept what we already have. That's the problem. He should be bolder in his approach not this "lets handle the fans with kid gloves" shtuff.
The entire point of the video was to show positive plays from players in our secondary. He broke down the plays. Said they need more interceptions moving forward. What is the problem again? I don't recall him saying anything about accepting what we already have. We have what we have. What is he supposed to break down players on other teams?

I'm not following here. He pointed out what these young guys can do. He says it all the time that they need to be more consistent. Heck, at the end he talked about on things they need to work on, and things that must happen next season. I don't see what you are seeing in regards to him saying we should accept what we have. He doesn't infer that at all.
And what do you mean by "be bolder in his approach"? Lagemen routinely tells it like it is when it's bad. More so in season I would say though.

Exactly.
Some people just need to find something to complain about. Otherwise, they're miserable.
I've found Lageman to be much more critical in the past when expectations were high. I think he adapted his critiques with the full understanding that this is a young and developing team.
I don't understand. He's employed by the Jags and part of his job description is to promote the product.
In what world would he NOT sugarcoat?
Sugar coat as in a half pack of Splenda.
As opposed to a deep fried twinkie dipped in chocolate, then powdered.
Sensational and off the mark, he's not. He's pretty accurate, as far as accuracy of opinions go. He makes honest observations and uses sound logic in presenting his analysis. He's also not shy to mention the bad with the good.
We're actually quite lucky to have him. There's no better analyst in town, and it's hard to find a better analyst that follows another NFL club. He's top notch.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,,,,,stop listening? I don't know, something just seems to tell me that it would be the solution to all of your problems. Iunno........
We are fortunate to have a Lageman on the local broadcast team. He's been approached more than once to jump to the national stage and has declined. I guess someone appreciates what he brings to the table.
Ok I get why you guys are in love with the guy, he's an ex-Jaguar player. Fine I get how JAX likes to fall in love with the average. However what has made me vocal in the first place is that he feels that our secondary was competent starters. Starters for JAX maybe...
I've always respected and appreciate JL commentary and film breakdown

You really don't get it.

Not even remotely.

I think what a few of us are saying is that we know he doesn't really feel like the secondary was competent - but he's a Jaguars employee and he is only going to measure out his criticism in small doses while hyping other areas - because- you know - it's like - his job?
If you watched his post game wrap ups around mid season last year - he was actually a pretty vocal critic on a number of failures by the jags. I find it easy to decipher when he's speaking frankly and when he's doing what he's primarily paid to do.
Out of that context - I see how some of his 'hyping' could be tough to stomach.
Logout until the draft Xeno, you're about to get the guillotine rather explicitly.

Nobody is saying we love Jeff Lageman because he played for the Jaguars. Nobody is saying the Jaguars are in love with the average. Where do you get the idea Lageman is sugarcoating problems and accepting what we have?
