I would like to see a veteran center added to protect Blake. Stephen Wisniewski is only 25 and available. He was above average and would give Bowanko a chance to get stronger as it seemed he got pushed around. Remember the adage ... Protect the QB at all cost

I'll second the Wisniewski recommendation. Jags need competition at center.

1) Hardy

2) Murray

3) Veteran LT thats better than sam young

It should only be Demarco & Hardy. Otherwise we are just filling too many holes through free agency.

6:37pm: Jaguars coaches and players are on the recruiting trail, making their pitches to Murray tonight, tweets Adam Caplan of ESPN.com.

5:28pm: A pair of teams looking to turn their fortunes around are making a play for last year’s top running back. The Raiders are making a run at DeMarco Murray, a league source tells Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk (on Twitter). The Jaguars, who have been previously connected to Murray, are also going after him, Florio tweets. Now, Murray might get the $9MM he’s after, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com tweets.

Meanwhile, a source indicated to Clarence Hill Jr. of the Star Telegram (on Twitter) that Murray could finalize something tonight. That news, he says, doesn’t bode well for Dallas’ chances of keeping him. The Cowboys have been vocal about wanting to retain Murray, but they’ve been clear that they’ll only go so far in terms of salary.

Greg Hardy
1. DE Greg Hardy ...young proven Leo on the commissioner's bad list.

2. DT Henry Melton ...former all-pro still rebounding after 2013 injury; one year prove-it deal?

3. MLB Mason Foster ...challenge for starting role, versatile to all LB spots.

4. RB DeMarco Murray ...love to have him, but not at likely cost.

5. TE Rob Housler ...backup move TE, if available late for cheap.

Clay Harbor?
Demarco Murray. No brainer. Give him whatever he wants. Maybe try to front load it.
It looks like Murray is trying to decide between the Jaguars and Raiders. The Jaguars have to be tempting knowing Olson's desire to run the ball.

So who all is in the mix for Greg Hardy? I see the Falcons were in, but dropped out. From what I can tell the Jaguars, Cowboys and 49ers are the front runners.

If it's between Oakland and Jacksonville, all you need to do is point out that he'll be paying taxes out the wazoo in CA, whereas he won't have to deal with state or local income taxes here. That's like an instant pay raise right there.

If they were to get Hardy, I hope they're prepared for the fallout that would ensue. While I'd be fine with them doing so, you know there's going to be some heat for making a move like that with a controversial player. But, his misfortune could benefit the Jags IF he's able to keep his life on track once he gets here. If he's a punk, I don't care how productive he might be. That contract would need to be loaded with tons of incentives to assure he flies right.
I am starting to warm up to the idea of Murray as a Jaguar. As long as we don't run the wheels off of him and can get maybe 3-4 good years and the cap hit isn't too bad, he could really help. Hardy is a beast, but I am concerned he might tie up big dollars for high risk. But if we could get him to sign a shorter deal to get himself back in good graces with the league and then go elsewhere, we could get a steal for his production. This has been a very entertaining free agency period for the Jaguars, that is for sure. Here's to more entertainment on the field during the season.

Melton played OK last season, but you are right...he was rebounding from the injury. He looked very good at times, then tailed off. I think he would be a decent signing. Please let the Jags get Murray is the Cowboys don't resign him. I read that Philly was interested.....cheering for him here in Florida would be great. Plus I hate Philly.
Raiders just signed Helu, might not mean anything, just interesting.

Keep in mind that Adrian Peterson is out there as well, although I still can't see the Jaguars doing that to Gerhart.

Very interesting. Up here in Michigan, the vibe is that Lions fans would criticize their FO for paying for Murray when this draft class is so loaded with RBs. The vibe on here is that, despite a loaded RB class, we should get Murray at all costs.

I can't see them letting Peterson go without being compensated some how,as to what i have no idea, unique situation with him

Actually, I would rather see them draft Abdullah in round two. That guy is going to be the next BEASTMODE.

I'm totally against giving Murray a big contract. He had a huge number of touches last year, and RBs tend to fade quickly after big seasons. Add to that that he benefited from the best OL in the NFL last year. The OL makes a huge difference for RBs. Even Gerhart looked a lot better once our line stabilized.
