I think he is next in line if Julius Thomas doesn't sign here.
Unless they plan on making an offer Miami won't match on Clay, I'd guess you're right.
I could see Rob Housler from the Cards being a dark horse candidate as well. Big guy, can move the chains. Not really a field stretcher though
I wanted him from the beginning, when healthy he plays good.
It pretty much has to be Clay, Cameron or Thomas otherwise we might as well wait until the draft for how minimal the improvement would be.

If Miami signs Suh they may end up not being able to match any offer.

His concussion problems really worry me.

Great point!
I would love to have Clay
Zach Miller was just released. He can be another solid option for the Jaguars.
Just nervous about injuries. otherwise he can be a great player.
Seems like every single free agent worth signing has baggage of some kind. Hopefully, they leave it with their old teams, unless they go to a team other than the Jaguars.

I agree. When healthy he's legit. And not just pass catching.

And it isn't like he isn't cult for a TE, he is 6'5 which is great and he can block in the run game. It sucks how he has to battle concussions every season.

I think you just figured out how FA works.
Every player comes with baggage. Some are always healthy(SUH) but can't stay out of trouble and vice versa. Its hard to find players like McCourty where he is great on the field like top FS and great off the field.
As I have said this whole offseason, all things equal I think Cameron is straight up better than Julius Thomas. Unfortunately, the concussions for Cameron are probably a bit scarier than 4 straight years of multiple missed games due to ankle issues for Thomas.
Still, considering the likely difference in price tags I'm not sure I wouldn't still rather gamble on what I think is the better AND cheaper player, and just cross my fingers with the concussion issue.
I agree. There is no doubt in my mind Cameron is better than Thomas. I've heard analyst after analyst who has watched his tape call Thomas a WR playing TE and they didn't mean that in a good way. But concussion issues are a serious problem.
Virgil Green is an intriguing guy too
