Quote:I think Marqise should play outside because of his speed. He really should work on his deep game; it will make him invaluable to the team if he can show the ability to consistently take the top off the D and make long, contested catches.

You could do that from the slot too, while not making him have to beat the jam or make those contested sideline catches that I don't think Lee will ever be a plus at. As I have said ad nauseum, watch 2011 Victor Cruz if you want to see exactly how I would use Lee. They used Cruz to take the top off the defense from the slot position a ton.

Yeah. Speed is speed - x,y or z doesn't matter to a decent coordinator.  And Cruz indeed was effective from the spot - not a bad comparison.

If Sullivan still has a voice in the offensive meeting room (I'd bet he does) then the receivers will continue to learn multiple positions and guys will move around to create favorable match-ups. Lee is a good candidate for this usage due to his speed.

Both of Lee's legit TDs came out of the slot (yes both preseason), the 57 yard deep TD and the 6 yard where he set the LB up on an inside move and then easily beat him outside for the TD. It's so obvious to me that is how he needs to be used.
