Why give up a fourth-round pick for a guy who's about to be cut anyway? A seven is the most I'd offer, and that's if I really, really liked him. It's not like there's going to be a compensation war for an OLB with that salary. Let him hit free agency then sign him to a more team-friendly deal.

Just something to chew on with Galette.... If any of you happen to still hold out hope for one Andre "windmill-selfie" Branch - Galette is the guy you hope he is looking to for career advice.
Galette was a late bloomer in the NFL who waited till his 3rd and 4th seasons to really show up.

No one knows what will happen, but it usually not a good idea to have an OLB play DE unless he really stinks as an OLB and can only rush the passer.
The Raiders tried to move Lamar Woodley to DE and it was a disaster.

"But Galette, 27 next month, got into some hot water with the law after the season, as he was arrested for domestic violence and simple battery before later being accused of sexual assault. Galette is due a fully-guaranteed $12.5 million roster bonus next month that the Saints will have to pay." -cbssports 2/15
He's the Saint's defensive captain and received the sizeable extension for a reason; the guy can ball. But, the above makes him toxic to a number of organizations, especially ones that are trying to appeal to families and women, for ticket sales growth. How toxic is/was his situation?

For those waiting for him to be cut, the Saints gain nothing by cutting him. His contract is fully guaranteed, and it won't open up any cap room for them. Unless they decide to cut bait on him because of the DV arrest, he'll very likely be traded or playing for NO next season.
