So the Patriots arent picking up Wilfork's opion

Two questions really.
1) Is this so they can resign McCourty
2) Any interest in bringing him here. Obviously he has a strong character in the locker room, a winner and still one of the best at his postion
McCourty has said he wants to test FA now. So hopefully we can lure him away
with all the rumors going around about Shu, don't be surprised at the amount of rumors that are going to come out about Big Vince
I think he has at least two more good years left, only question is does he want to play, would not be surprised if Fish take a run at him if they don't get a deal with Shu

Lot going on with this post.
This team doesn't need another aging defensive lineman. If they go after someone in free agency, it's going to be someone with more than a year or two left in the tank.
I'm not even sure if Wilfork would be a good fit for this defense.
As far as McCourty is concerned, I think the Pats are pretty much resigned to letting him test the market, and he has indicated he'd like to do so. He also said he'd like to return to the Pats, but it sounds like the only way that would be a possibility is if they have a strong offer on the table that makes it worth his while.
His momma said so.
I'd take Vince and Pats are freeing up room to resign Revis.
