I haven't seen much talk about Demarco Murray.  With Dez Bryant officially being tagged, Murray will test free agency.  It seems like Gus and Dave have put a big emphasis on leaning on the running game to open up the passing game.  Do you think we will look at Murray?  I hope so.  He is still young and he runs hard.  If he stays healthy he is one of the best backs in the game.

God I hope not.

Injury prone and played behind an elite offensive line. Not to mention he will cost a lot and we could use that money in a number of other areas on this team.
I wouldn't mind having DM in the backfield at all.. But considering how much he's prolly gonna want, there is much bigger needs to fill using that cap space..
Hell no. We need FS, RT, C, WR, TE, and linebacker help all of which are more important than runningback. Also, this is the deepest RB draft in years.

Just draft a rb. And even if we didn't draft one, I think we can get by with what we have. Denard has some great potential.

No.
Agreed , there are many other areas to address before . Something to maybe address the following off-season

Dave has also been crystal clear this off season that running back isn't something they see as a priority.
I think he ends up in Indy, if he leaves Dallas.

An aging back with a heavy workload coming off an injury-marred year? No thanks. Let Indy overpay for him.

Figured this would be the best thread to post this in.

One reason: They’ll move Toby Gerhart around, using him an an H-back, as well as RB

I wouldn't call Demarco Murray an aging running back, he's 27 years old. I just get the feeling we might look his way.

27 is absolutely aging for a RB.

Its not the age that scares me. Its the fact that he had almost 450 touches last season. If you take a look at the history of running backs who had that many touches, it is almost a guarantee he's only going to go downhill the following season onward. The rushing title is like a career death curse.

Yeah the curse of 370 and all too. Plus before last year he had a laundry list of injuries. It appears that the interest is real but I just don't get it and would be quite disappointed.

Bingo. And the fact that the Oline did the majority of his work.
I'm more than fine if we bring in Murray on the cheap or with low guaranteed money, but some team out there is likely going to overpay for his services.

Mark Ingram or Vereen are the only RB I like in this class.
