The combine is out of the way now, so time for another testing of the collective waters...
Simple question...
Assuming we don't trade back in the draft and that you can pick any player. Who do you take with the number 3 pick ?
If he isn't available, who is your number two pick ?
And if neither of them are available, who is your third favourite ?
my 1,2,3 would be...
Williams
Fowler
Gregory
I suspect most people will have similar lists by now (maybe substituting one of Fowler and Gregory with Ray or Beasley)
1. Leonard Williams
2a. Fowler
2b. Gregory
2c. Beasley
3. White
1. Williams
2. Fowler
3. Beasley
I got Gregory down quite a bit after the combine. I'd take Dupree over him.
1. William
2. Fowler
3. Shelton
Just curious as to why you have dropped Gregory so far?? It was reported as him being up to 245 during training for the combine before he had a stomach virus. I'm a Nebraska fan and wasn't on the bandwagon (Hopefully Williams can fall to 3) at all until I watched tape on most of the other DE/LB tweeners and he's just as explosive if not more than any of the other guys.

Even 245 at nearly 6'6" is too light IMO.
Guys that were heavier like Fowler ran just as fast and we're just as athletic.
Gregory looks like a good, not great athlete with good length.
Doesn't look like a top 5 pick to me.
Williams
Shelton/Ray/Folwer
Cant decide how I would split the last 3. And I want to see if Ray is explosive as everyone says. I realize Shelton isnt as big a need as a pure pass rusher but I think Shelton will make all the guys around him better pass rushers.
1st: Leonard "Big Cat" Williams - his name says that he MUST BE a Jaguar
2nd: Dante Fowler Jr - Either as a Leo or an Otto - (as an Otto if the Jags sign Jerry Hughes - Leo DE - Bills in Free Agency)
3rd: Kevin White - He would be the Jags No. 1 WR even with Blackmon coming back.
Gregory is defiantly a great athlete and to say otherwise is nonsense. Go back and watch his film, does he disappear throughout games sure. But some of his moves and the things he can do is just absurd. Not a lot of DE's are able to drop back into coverage and actually look good doing it. Let alone have several INT's for the career and a pick 6.
The thing with Gregory is that I did see him disappear then to see his weight fluctuate that much is crazy. I'd be concerned if I was a scout looking at him wondering if he can maintain his weight and keep his speed/athleticism too. Fowler seems much more like a sure thing in my mind. I also see Dupree as having the same upside as Gregory, but his flags are at least coachable.
Last year when he had his weight up he was an absolute force. Never really seemed to disappear at all. There were reports of him playing around 218 during this season which is unreal. He got banged up right at the start of the season and ended up having a minor surgery and just really never seemed to get all the way back. I am no way saying Gregory at 3 but for some people to have him falling out of the top 10 is insane.
Williams
Fowler
Beasley
Beasley jumped Ray and Gregory, but I still wanna see Ray pro day
Leonard Williams - Best pass rusher, great size, and freak athlete
Dante Fowler - For Leo position because he can play OLB and DE
Kevin White - I am not confident Justin Blackmon will come back

really depends on how the other edge rushers are graded out. if people like fowler, beasley, and ray better then it's not that insane to see him fall out of the top 10.
Well Cosell seems to have a strong opinion of Gregory per Rotoworld.
Quote:NFL Films guru Greg Cosell believes Nebraska DE/OLB Randy Gregory is a better prospect than 2014 No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney.
Cosell has Gregory pegged as a "definite" top-10 pick, calling him a better athlete, more flexible, and more explosive than Clowney. If you recall, Clowney was billed by some as a once-in-a-decade talent coming out of South Carolina before knee issues wrecked his rookie season. Gregory is tall and slender at 6'5/235, built like a basketball player with the ability to add some weight and strength. He's drawn Jason Taylor and Leonard Little comparisons in the pre-draft process.
I think this guy is off his rocker. Better than Clowney? No way.
Being 6'5" and 235 worries me. He has to be able to put on at least 20 lbs to have a chance in the NFL, IMO.... and he's never been at that weight.
I worry drafting a guy that high that needs to significantly change his body type before he ever goes on the field.
This isn't a situation like how Telvin Smith can play linebacker at 210 lbs ... he's got Big Red in front of him the entire time eating blockers.

Well Greg Cosell is one of the most tied in, respected people in NFL circles. I'm sure he didn't just pull this out of thin air and is probably basing this on a few scouts/GMs opinions.
1. Leonard Williams
2. Amari Cooper
3. Bud Dupree
1) Williams
2) Fowler
3) Shelton

Right. I respect his opinion and usually agree with him but not here. Not even close IMO.
