My husband's cousin is a cop in Atlanta and was accepted into the K-9 unit about 6 months ago. He came to our neck of the woods for some training and we got to meet his partner. I can't remember the breed, he was a mix, but Paul showed us a demonstration of the command/obey stuff and told us how it all works to have a dog for a partner. It was pretty neat stuff.
I saw that picture yesterday. Pretty sad picture. It's amazing how dogs can pull at your heartstrings.
