Does anyone else on here like to golf?

 

I try and get out once a week generally shoot high 80's low 90's range.

 

Basically wanted to make a thread to see if anyone has played some decent courses for relatively reasonable prices lately.

 

seems like alot of courses in town are in rough shape as of late so ive been keeping an ear open for some good deals.

 

these are the courses ive played lately

 

Bent Creek: $48 in peak hours- decent fairways;greens are in bad shape, way fast; tee boxes are equally as crappy.

                 kind of surprised me cause bent creek is usually in great shape for the price.

 

Windsor: $50 in peak- fairways are mushy in some places but mostly in good shape, greens are decent, teen boxes are little rough in some spots.

 

Jax beach: $37 in peak- fairways are hard: greens way to fast(mainly cause they have no grass in most areas); tee boxes are in decent shape.

 

Blue Sky(old mill cove):$45- absolutely terrible all the way around, dont waste your money. from what i can tell, they used all the money they had for renovations on golf carts and a teen hang out for the clubhouse and forgot to do anything to the course. millcove hasnt been good for some time, but at least they didnt over charge you. now you get over charged for a pretensions golf club.

Why are you paying $48 to play Bent Creek?    I've never seen Bent Creek charge $48.

I don't know if I've paid 'full price, to golf in 15+ years.


$45 at Blue Sky??!?!

Not a golfer in the least. I have played one round in my entire life, and I was miserable. I stopped playing at about the 12/13th hole. My playing partners were not happy as it was a best ball and I was somewhat serviceable each hole to them. It was a charity event which I now just donate he fee to play and leave it as that. I couldn't have been more miserable.

 

I did work two summers on a golf course and loved it. Worked with the maintenence crew. Cut, edged, mowed the whole thing.
