Actually Bruce Irvin mans the Otto LB spot in the Seattle Defense. Cliff Avril mans the DE-Leo spot.

he does now but not when they drafted him
Irvin and Clemons both played Leo and both played the ends in passing situations, now they have Bennett and Avril
Yeah Bruce Irvin is the Otto... But it looks like the LEO and Otto can sometimes be very close in terms of skill set.
Would be a good pick if we trade down with the jets for instance
Irvin isn't that good. I hope we aim higher.

i like beasley but i think his value is closer to the 10 area. leonard williams is still the prize of this draft, in my opinion.

16.5 sacks in three years? Meh.

Ummmmmm...really?

Yea, I agree with this. Williams is still the best player in the draft hands down. Very powerful and too versatile to pass up on if he is there. I'd then have to go with Fowler then Gregory then a pretty big gap before considering Beasley and Ray. Beasley was very impressive though.

Kinda have to agree. You idealy want your high first round pick to be a pro bowl every down player. Irvin is not.

So you admit you don't know anything about Bruce Irvin. He's a linebacker on first and second downs and rushes the passer on third down. Considering he posted those numbers as a part time rusher that's pretty impressive.

What's your definition of "high first round"?

Meh....I have no problem aiming higher than Bruce Irving with our first round pick.

Me neither. I have no problem aiming for the next Bruce Smith either. But if I get the next Bruce Irvin instead I'm not going to complain.
