We've had two offseasons under our belt and know what Gus likes and doesn't like.  With that in mind, I looked at some players that might have some traits that Gus has repeatedly talked about.

I'm talking about long corners, LEOs, and OTTOs.

Ladarius Gunter, CB: 6'2"

Jalen Collins, CB: 6'2"

Quinten Rollins, CB: 6'1"

Josh Shaw, CB: 6'1"

Kevin Johnson, CB 6'1"

OTTO: "long" ..."set the edge"... Someone that can rush the passer and also occasionally drop back..  Someone like Bruce Irvin in Seattle.

Vic Beasley

Bud Dupree

There are tons more, But I thought I'd start something that looks at these "fits" that Gus is looking for.

I admit my understanding is very limited - but what I've gathered from Gus is that he wants/prefers tall/long corners.

He wants the long Leo that is very athletic - some are one but not the other - it's tough to find a true LEO.

The otto from my understanding is a bigger LB, with length and the ability to rush the passer.  I kind of see them as almost your traditional 3-4 outside rush backer ... like the Joey Porters of the world.

If anyone has a better idea of what makes a LEO a LEO and an OTTO an OTTO, please chime in.  Add more players if needed.

I think we will end up with 1 of those guys up there.

If they trade to 6, I'm guessing the pick will be Beasley seeing that Fowler Jr and Williams should already be gone
You may want to tweak your list a bit. Rollins is 5'11 and his arms were under 30" at the senior bowl.

So he wouldn't be a gus fit at CB but his ball skills combined with quick feet, speed, and anticipation could make him a good FS IMO.
According to CBS sports "rankings" Eli Harold's value is right at our second round pick.

If he slides into the 3rd round, Lorenzo Mauldin could be an intriguing Otto candidate...

"STRENGTHS: Quick-footed with lower body agility and burst in space. Clean footwork and solid change of direction skills as a stand-up defender. Smooth strides off the edge to hit his top speed quickly, occasionally showing the ability to dip and bend. Quick trigger and get-off to aggressively attack gaps. Physical hand use and an improved punch. Trusts his vision with quick reflexes to react to the action, reading plays well to get his hands up and obstruct passing lanes (7 pass break-ups the past two seasons). Heady awareness to locate, track and attack with his eyes always focused on the ball, not the bodies in front of him. Hits like a truck and his pursuit is always in full-go mode. Active, emotional and fiery player with natural leadership traits, looking to educate his teammates. Versatile starting experience at end and linebacker, rushing from a three point stance and also standing up as both a rusher and coverage defender. Self-motivated hard worker who has shown the ability to overcome adversity and keep his priorities straight." -CBSsports

Tony Lippett

Played WR & CB at MSU open to moving to CB in the NFL.

Size wise he's a good comp to Richard Sherman:

Lippett: 6'2 1/2" 192, 32 3/4" arms, 9 7/8" hands

Sherman: 6'2 1/2" 195, 32" arms, 9 3/4" hands.

I'll post links to confirm the numbers once i get to a computer. My phone isn't letting me paste.

Sherman: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsp...&genpos=CB

Lippett: http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/tony...id=2552427 (for some reason, nfl.com doesn't have the exact height measurements and rounded)
Good addition there.
I would add Byron Jones from UConn. 6'1" physical corner. Late round pick.
Still looking like Fowler ATM. Makes the most sense unless we trade back.
