Bleacher Report's Jason Cole reports the Browns will "take a real run" at trying to trade for Sam Bradford.


Relaying Combine buzz, Cole reports the Browns will aggressively pursue quarterbacks, and Bradford is at the "top of their list," with free agent Josh McCown as a fallback option. Cole floats a second- or third-round pick as potential trade compensation. Bradford has reportedly informed the Rams he will not take a pay cut, which may complicate his future in St. Louis. If he falls out of the Rams' plans -- which still seems unlikely -- the Browns would love to be there to catch him.

The Browns organization as a whole is a complete joke.


Wasted picks on Weeden, Gordon, Gilbert, Manziel and now going to try and give away picks for a mediocre QB who can't stay healthy, coming off two major injuries, entering the final year of his contract. Let's not forget that if the Commish cracks down on them for the Textgate scandal they may not have many picks left this year.

Wow. If that's true, the Browns front office, which was already a joke, is falling into territory previously uncharted for laugh-ability.

Personally, I think Haslem is the guy destroying the team, as do many of us in Ohio.

That team seems like it's been cursed since Modell loaded up the trucks.

Actually I read they are interested in trading up for Marcus Mariota.

Cleveland's first round picks are #12 (earned) and #19 (from Bills). FWIW St. Louis owns the #10 pick.

 

The Buccaneers, Titans, Redskins, Jets, Bears, Rams, Texans, Browns, and Cardinals are all candidates for picking a quarterback. Of those teams, only Arizona can't trade down with the Browns.

Sounds like they're going to make a push to beat out Oak/SD for the LA spot.

If true...the Browns are a bigger mess than I imagined.

They're firing the coach and GM at the end of this season anyway; why not trade for a guy who'll only further jack up their QB situation in the meantime?

Sam Bradfords biggest issues is injuries not his play. He looked good when he actually played the last two years. Its a gamble, but for the right price (maybe a 4th) I would do it. Your taking a risk for a Drew Brees like recovery, and I think its a swing for the fences, but man if it goes over, how the Browns narrative will change.

Sam Bradford looked good when he played?

I did like Bradford when he was able to stay in the game, sadly the rams have been building more of a Defense heavy team and lack weapons for Bradford. But he cant stay healthy so thats been huge for them.

 

Browns are just....man....This wouldnt shock me if they did try and get yet another QB.

As a Jag fan, I can't believe I am saying this, but I feel sorry for their fans.

Yahoo's Rand Getlin reports the Bills are "pursuing a trade" for Sam Bradford.

League sources tell Getlin the Bills' new coaching staff believes Bradford can "maximize the value of their wide receivers and help them win now." In theory, Bradford is certainly an upgrade on E.J. Manuel, but he's an injury-prone mess currently due $13 million. That, coupled with the fact that the Bills only have six 2015 draft picks makes a trade extremely unlikely. Most signs have suggested Bradford will get yet another shot at establishing himself under center in St. Louis.

Mediocre QB? Really?

 

2012: 3700 yards, 21 tds, 13ints, 59comp%

 

2013: 1600 yards, 14tds, 4ints, 60comp%

 

That put him on pace for stats on par with Russell Wilson and Cam Newton in 2013. To say he is mediocre is wrong. When healthy he is solid. Is he a super bowl caliber QB? I'm not sure. He is never healthy enough to know which is the obvious problem. I can understand why they might seek a trade if the price is right, but giving up anything of real value would be stupid given Bradford's injury history.
