Quote:This guy is awesome. Will also deliver TD's with punt returns and kickoffs. He is a little small but very good. If we have a extra 2nd round from a trade he would be fine. Other than that go get a veteran and go with what you have. No way receiver at 3. We need to much else.
That move he puts on the CB at 1:50 is just utterly nasty.

Here's the Jags depth chart..

http://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/JAX..

It's got Lee/Robinson/Hurns/Streeter/Sanders/Copeland..

If Blackmon returns it'll be Lee/Robinson/Blackmon/Hurns with Thomas/Lewis Bortles would love that combo..

Wow. That depth chart is awful.
Everything will depend if we have the offensive weapons in the backfield (run threat and passing out of the backfield) to cause linebackers to hold, the FS to sit, and cause 1-on-1 match-ups. If that happens, I can see Lee, Robinson and Hurns creating deep opportunities. Julian Thomas helps, but we need another backfield receiver threat who can take the middle and dominant running back who is at ease ripping off yards and receiving. And by the way, I am a big fan of RB Brandon Wegher since his Iowa days and I hope we can pick him up in FA.

Amari Cooper.

Otherwise, we really don't have one.  Not a game in/game out reliable one, that is.

Amari and ARob on the outside with Lee or Blackmon in the slot. The fifth spot will be a tough competition.

I doubt that, Hurns would pretty much be a lock.
Lee SHOULD be our deep threat.... And KR if i might add (why don't we give him a chance back there?)

I wouldnt be totally shocked if they drafted him at #3, but only if Leo Williams is off the board.  The problem with a deep threat like Cooper is the question of the Olines ability to give him enough time to be valid at 3 for the Jags
Lee's a pretty good deep threat but I think he'd be more consistently productive as a slot receiver. That role would help him take advantage of his agility and ability to create quick separation, plus he'd have the whole middle of the field to get YAC, which he is awesome at. I could see him as one of those weird slot WRs who still gets 800-900 yards a year.

Hurns is just a tall and decently fast guy who plucks the ball out of the sky but I see him as more of a lottery ticket/mismatch than a consistent weapon downfield. He wins on height advantage more than anything, which can be stopped with the right gameplanning and matchups in the NFL.

Robinson can do a bit of everything cause he's so good at making catches when he's guarded. But deep threat? Nah, I wanna see him go up between two guys on 3rd and 12 and rip the ball down from the clouds. That's what Robinson does, he was an excellent rebounder and dunker when he played basketball. He's Keenan McCardell.

Id be fine using Lee and Hurns alternately as deep threats in different packages (just as I'm fine with continuing to rotate Chris Clemons, Ryan Davis, Branch if he's healthy etc because they're very effective as a group, and each is good in diff situations.)

But if we really wanted to address it and have a guy who regularly can stretch defenses, and would have a connection with Blake Bortles right away....

Let's draft Breshad Perriman in the second round. That 4.26 dash is at least .20 better than any other WR on our roster and he made a ton of big plays with Blake in an NFL offense at UCF.

If Derron Smith, or Todd Gurley, or one of the excellent offensive linemen (Jake Fisher maybe? Cameron Erving? DJ Humphries?) fell to pick 36 those are the wiser choices because those guys fit a need. But I could see all five of them gone in round 1. Seriously. And the Bucs, Titans and Raiders all need those things too and pick ahead of us in round 2, so if that all happens... then give Blake his college weapon and let's start throwing bombs downfield because those two already know how to adjust to each other.
I like Hurns last year! He seem to get open the most. I think he is our deep threat right now.

The Jaguars don't have a real, actual deep threat.

I just hope BB can get the ball to whomever it is on the fly.  This is my single biggest concern with him.  Can he throw the rainbow?

Yes he can and has so i don't know why you'll make such of a ill-informed statement.
