Quote:It's slowly becoming legalized because the government is slowly starting to realize that there's more money to be made in sales than confiscation.

That and it's good for another re-election as they seek to capitalize on its surge in popularity.
Quote:If they legalize it I plan on growing it as a cash crop without a doubt (I've got about an acre that I would dedicate to it). To risky as it is right now, I'm a Dad first.

From what I understand, there are very strict guidelines in what crop growers are able to grow it.

I imagine that would be the case, however that stuff grows so easy on almost an acre it would be worth the trouble. I'd be able to turn a nice profit off an acre if it's ever legalized.

Unless those Republican legislatures can be convinced that they can make an absolute fortune they'll fight it until Federal action is taken.

You may be right - but I think that "will of the people" is coming primarily from the demographic that is least likely to vote.

We don't even have "medical" weed yet - which is just a forerunner for legal pot. Once "medical marijuana passes, and it will eventually (John Morgan will make sure), I think it will still be another ten years until it's legal. In Florida. Mississippi, Alabama and South Carolina - not sure in my lifetime.
I am just shocked to see the clots name included in this:

Quote:For the record every good ol boy I know is in favor of legalizing pot, and I know A LOT of them. Heck I think even my preacher has said as much at a BBQ, he won't touch it but it's ridiculous people go to jail for it, and he's no hippie.
I fully realize that I'm going to probably get flamed on here for saying this, but I thought you should know; I am a southerner (born in Arkansas, lived in J'ville now for over 25 years, retired military... and I absolutely oppose the legalization of marijuana.
