Again mariota doesn't hold the same value elway or Manning did coming out of college they was always going to get suitors

It doesn't make sense to me.  You dangle the guy out there and if you have no one that bites for at least the price you paid, you just screwed yourself over.  Seems way to amateurish of a move that I doubt any legitimate GM would do this.
