This is one of the best classes in a long time. I think we can get a couple impact players. One guy I think that would really help us is Byron Maxwell, Gus knows him and we need secondary help. Who do you think we should go for?

I think he wants to cash in on his play with the Seahawks.
I prefer Chris Culliver of the 49ers to Byron Maxwell of the Seahawks.
Culliver also has the ability to play Free Safety, which he did at South Carolina in the SEC.
We have good, young CB's that need to develop, so why spend a lot in free agency on that position when it's not a critical need?
Free agency should be used to fill in the biggest holes, like TE, RT, FS, LB.
Same with our WR's. We have 3 good, young WR's who need playing time, so why spend big in free agency?
I want mother loving Suh.
If there's two positions we spend big on I hope it's FS and RT. I think we can get a FA TE for a reasonable price with out spending a ton.
I see so many mocks within this board that start with a free agency assumption that the Jags will pick up 6-8 very good free agents. Realistically, the Jags will likely get 2-3 better free agents and then some mediocre to fill the remainder of needs. With the 2-3 better free agents, I think they'll target and spend on the RT, Otto, and FS positions.

oh yeaaaa
We have to sign a veteran right tackle and receiver.
Rantsports.com made 5 of what they called "BOLD" predictions for JAX in free agency. And I must say they are pretty logical.
1. Malcolm Smith reunites with Gus Bradley (I think we would all be pleased with this signing).
2. Jags sign Jeremy Maclin in FA (I would not mind this at all. Almost exact skill set as Cobb, but cheaper and more realistic wishing. I can see this happening)
3. Jags sign Julius Thomas
4. Jags make run at Suh, but ultimately lose because of contending team.
5. Jags do not bring back Cecil Shorts (Maclin is better anyway).
After Miller's and Marks' injury, I think we need to at least try and sign a starting caliber DT. We need to at least attempt a run a Suh, if only to raise the price tag for Cleveland or Oakland. I think one of those two or the Jags will sign him.
Personally I'm off signing Suh, I'd much rather get Julius Thomas and think he would be cheaper.
I do think we need to do something in the secondary, and the free safety class is alright but I really think Gus will bring in Maxwell even if he has to overpay a little.
Signing Thomas, Maxwell, and drafting BPA in the front 7 (Williams, Gregory) and drafting a RT in the 2nd I think makes us a 7-9, 8-8 football team.

Why not sign both Thomas and Suh?
And don't give me a "cheap" answer lol. Not the year to be frugal.
Not interested in Suh for obvious reasons.

Because this is Jacksonville and we don't like good players on our team?

Lol we've been cheap for the last 15 years.

Because he is a great player?

I think you're jumping the gun here. A lot of the current "free agents" will re-sign with their teams before free agency starts, or tagged by their team. We don't really know at this point who will even be a free agent.

There is no reason not to spend big on a tight end too. The salary cap this year is $143 million.
